Finding The Best Cardio Exercise Equipment

One thing that most people don't do enough of nowadays is exercise. So many of us lead busy lives and have jobs that have us sitting at a desk all day. This, along with all of the processed foods you buy at the store and fast food joints you visit when you need to eat and are in a hurry, lead to gains in body fat. On top of this, a lot of us just don't have time to visit the gym regularly so we don't burn away the calories we need to lose this unwanted body fat.

While dieting is essential to getting rid of the body fat you've accumulated from consuming too many empty calories and not being active enough, exercising is just as important. Nothing will help you melt that extra body fat off faster then cardiovascular exercise. Three or four cardio workouts per week that last between half an hour and 45 minutes will burn a lot of calories and boost your metabolism, which will lead to fat loss.

You can do cardiovascular exercise outdoors by jogging or biking or on machines at a gym. However, many people who want to lose weight prefer to have privacy when they exercise. Fortunately, you can purchase the best cardio exercise exercise equipment to use at home. This will also make it easier to get your workouts in because you can just get up, go to your machine, and start moving.

No matter what kind of cardiovascular exercise you like to do, there's a machine for you. Treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and stair climbers are all among the top cardiovascular exercise equipment.

Treadmills

You can't go wrong with a treadmill when you're looking for the best cardio exercise equipment. It's probably the most popular piece of equipment to do cardio workouts on. This may be because you can do any kind of walking, jogging, or running workout on them in the comfort of your own home. Even if you like walking or jogging outdoors, a treadmill is great to have on those days when it's just too hot out or when the weather is bad. If you live in an area where it snows, treadmills are great to have during the winter months.

The best cardio exercise equipment when you're interested in purchasing a treadmill is one that can raise on an incline and has a console that shows information such as how far you've went and how many calories you've burned. Of course, you'll want a treadmill that also allows you to easily adjust the speed you are going. When you're choosing a treadmill, you'll want to find something that's well made and won't break down often.

Stationary Bikes

Stationary bikes are also among the best cardio exercise equipment. They allow you to get all of the fat burning and cardiovascular benefits of cycling without leaving your home. Due to the weather in the area you live, you may not want to go biking outside all of the time or you may want to exercise in private. When you own a stationary bike you can just get up and go right into your living room or bedroom and ride it.

There are 2 main types of exercise bikes - upright and recumbent. Upright stationary bikes are the ones we all know - you sit upright just like you would on a normal bicycle. Recumbent stationary bikes are low to the ground and you cycle you legs in front of you rather than under your body. Both are excellent for doing cardiovascular workouts indoors.

Elliptical Machines

While most people will opt for a treadmill or a stationary bike when they're looking for the best cardiovascular exercise equipment, elliptical machines offer just as much fat burning benefits as them and will spare your joints. When you work out on an elliptical machine, you move your legs back and forth in a smooth motion. This means that you won't beat up your knees and ankles like you may when you run or jog and you won't have to bend your knees as much as when you bike.

Another great thing about buying an elliptical machine when you're looking for the best cardio exercise equipment is that you can comfortably watch TV or read a book when you work out on it. This will keep you from getting bored while you're working out.

For a smooth cardio workout that will burn a lot of calories and fat, give the elliptical machine a try.

Stair Climbers

Another contender for the best cardio exercise equipment is the stair climber. Running up flights of stairs is a great way to do cardiovascular exercise. However, not everybody has access to a place where they can do this. With a stair climber, you can get all of the fat burning benefits of running up real stairs.

One great thing about stair climbers is that they won't give your joints the pounding that running up stairs will. They allow for a much smoother workout with the same type of motion you would do while climbing stairs. Stair steppers mimic the action of climbing up stairs with a much lower possibility of bothering your knees or ankles. If you want a great cardio workout, give stair steppers a try.
