Introduction

Dr. Amen and his wife Tana have created a 50 step program to restore brain health. It is comprehensive and involves proper eating, exercise, meditation and supplements. All are related to getting a health brain and reduce risks of dimentia.

Background

The first step is to measure your current status. They provide an easy questionaire to assess your brain type and a score. This test can be found here on their website. Once, you determine the state of your brain, you can learn about the different things you can do to improve and reverse any damage. Everyone of us is unique. We have different personalities and likes and dislikes. The various techniques they recommend is tailored to eash individual. I like that concept. One size does not fit all.

The program is not cheap. it cost $240 for the whole package. Here is their website if you are interested. There is also a companion book called "The Brain Warrior's Way" which is part of the package.

Summary

The human brain is a miracle organ. It is capable of so many things and it is what makes us distinctively human. It is only 2% of our body weight and yet consumes 30% of our calories. The health of our brain is key to happiness and well being. It is related to everything we do. Thanks to Dr. Amen and his wife, we now know how to take care of our brain health.

The other important message is that it is never too late. This method will work for people in their late stages of life as well as earlier. The brain has regenerative capabilities. That is very good news.
