Bring It: P90X Day 48

Updated on November 20, 2011

If you are looking to transform your body, P90X, created by Tony Horton, might be the workout that you have been looking for. With this extreme workout, you will take a 90 day journey through some of the most challenging workouts you may have ever seen. These workouts aren't hard. We all know the exercises and they are easy to do. However - they are physically hard when you combine them all together. By pushing yourself a little harder, you will start the process of getting stronger each and everyday.

Bring It

Today I was feeling a little under the weather. Not because I was sick, but because I was stupid. My husband was working a long shift last night and came home for dinner. Knowing he had to stay awake until 7:30 a.m. when he has already been up since 6 a.m., meant he was going to need some strong coffee. Unfortunately, he left with his travel cup and I drank the rest. Let's just say I was wired until 3 a.m. with a morning alarm clock of kids that got me up shortly after 7.

I was feeling pretty lazy and didn't really move much until well after noon. It went against everything I believe in to not get up right away and just push play. Yet, I really didn't care at that point. I really had no energy to spare.

So today was going to be an evening workout. I usually don't like evening workouts because for the most part I get a burst of energy that interupts my sleep. Ok - so that really doesn't effect me much. After all, it seems to be normal for me to go to bed late. Especially when my husband is working nights. It's my "me" time.

It was KenpoX on the menu and I devoured it. What can I say, if it would have been any other workout, I might have actually decided to switch my rest day and just do it tomorrow. But, Kenpo X is good any time of the day. My three kids even joined in for the last 12 minutes.

My oldest told me the workout wasn't that tough. I told her I thought she couldn't hang in there. She made a bet - originally 50 cents, but I switched it up. If she could handle the last 12 minutes with me I would give her and her siblings a piece of candy. If not, I would give her siblings a piece of cany while she watched them.

Now don't worry. Even if she would have fallen out of the workout (4 minutes of which was just the cool down) I probably would have still given her the candy just for trying. But, I didn't have to. She hung with me the final minutes of the workout. Granted, her form was horrible (and slightly resembled a spaghetti noodle while she punched, jabbed and kicked), but she sitll did her best!

So, if you are thinking about exercising and keep coming up with an excuse.... remember, my daughter survived. So will you!
