Bring It: P90X Day 80

Updated on December 22, 2011

If you are looking for a tough training program, Tony Horton has it for you. P90X is an extreme workout filled with exercises that will give you the most bang for your buck. This program, which consists of 12 DVDs will have you sweating and grunting and falling over. The concept behind the program is muscle confusion. While Tony Horton supplies the tools for the workout, you are the one expected to show up, push play and give it all you got. In addition, the program is laid out so there is enough variety to keep those muscles confused. Once your muscles get used to a workout, you will get frustrated as you hit a plateau.

If you would like to start from the beginning of this series, please click here. If you want to read about my previous day with P90X, click here.

Please leave your comments below. My personal journey is coming to a close, and while my first intention was to use this as an extra push to getting my daily workout in, it has also become a form of inspiration and motivation to others. Feel free to leave your advice and your own personal stories below.

Bring It

Today's workout was Back and Biceps... the glamour muscles. However, today I was feeling far from glamorous. In fact, I was feeling downright uck! I have no clue how I even made it through my workout and I am even impressed by the fact that I pushed play. Yet, Knowing that I don't even have a full two weeks left, I didn't want to break the streak. So sick or not - this workout is happening whether my body wants to or not.

I didn't get to my workout until the afternoon. I was feeling pretty out of it this morning... and frankly I was drugged up on Tylenol Cold and Sinus. It was the daytime medicine so at least it didn't knock me out. However, I wasn't feeling the workout until the medicine kicked in. Or maybe I just worked out in the afternoon because I was done procastinating. While I am still under the weather, I am glad it is over and done with for the day.

My nutrition hasn't been good either today. Frankly that is a double fail on my part. But nothing looks appetizing so I just didn't eat most of the day. I am blaming that for my workout not being at the top of my game. Frankly I was running out of steam and running out of energy. This forced me to lower my weight I was using halfway through the workout. My body however is recovering from this cold, so I did push it my hardest. Sad thing is, I partially feel like I have blown this workout since it is the last time during the session of P90X that I will be doing Back and Biceps.

4 Days Until Christmas

As many of you are probably aware, there are only 4 more days until Christmas. This means you only have 3 days (because stores will be closing on Christmas Eve) to get that Christmas shopping done. I have yet to finish my present buying, haven't even wrapped one present, and am heavily slacking on my Christmas baking this year. I guess this is a friendly reminder, if you are in the same boat as me, it is time to get moving.

To continue with the trend... here is a list of the top 4 gifts I don't want for Christmas!

4 Things I Don't Want For Christmas

  1. A cold - As this cold has been visiting over the past couple weeks, today I realized that I definately don't want a cold for Christmas. The aches and the pains, the stuffy head and runny nose... I just would rather do without this gift this year. So please - no cold for Christmas!
  2. My husband working - As most of you know, my husband has been working 2 jobs. For the most part, I have grown use to this. However, I really don't want my husband working for Christmas. The money is nice, but working a holiday just sucks. Unfortunately, the schedule came out, and while he has off all of Christmas Eve, he does work night on Christmas Day. Luckily, we do have majority of the time to spend together as a family this holiday!
  3. Rain - The rain clouds can really go somewhere else. I am from the midwest, so I would definately welcome the snow. However, I know the chances of snow is not likely. Usually it would be replaced with rain. This year, I would like to stay dry. So, I would rather have no gift at all then the gift of rain.
  4. Drama - With the holidays always comes stress. This usually creates drama. I would love to just get together with family and friends and just enjoy the day. If things aren't going as planned - I say take a deep breath. Tommorrow it will be over and done with and whatever went wrong will be in the past. So, regardless of how stressed you are feeling, set those cranky feelings aside. This is the time of year to be happy. So make the best of it!

So here is hoping that none of these gifts show up under mine.... or your tree! What gifts could you really do without this year?

Have a wonderful holiday season and a Merry Christmas!
