Cigarette Addiction

Updated on June 16, 2017

"The Dangers Of Smoking"

Are you battling with cigarette addiction? then you are aware of how difficult it is to stop. The alternative approach is to face the problem head on by recognizing the cause of the addiction. Ask yourself what benefit am I getting from smoking? Your answer may be it helps me to calm down or it prevents me from binge eating. Well in my case it prevented me from eating a lot, but truthfully it was just an excuse to keep smoking. This was really difficult to figure out because I was smoking while trying to eradicate the habit.

You see, I looked for every reason to stop but still continued smoking. Then it hit me, I have a mind that I have control of so I will tell it what to do. I am gonna switch things up a bit to make you realize something, think about this the cost of a pack of cigarette varies from $5 to $10 in my case $10, a pack a day times 7 days = $70, now $70 times 52 = $3640 per year, that is a lot of money I was spending to shorten my life. This is money I could have been putting into a retirement savings plan or something that could have benefited my family, how selfish and thoughtless and self-destructive I was.

Ii had realized this for a while but continued to ignore the truth, the reality was that I allowed smoking to control me instead of me controlling me. Then one day I just stopped cold because I finally realize I am in charge, smoking made me look older that I am, it had caused receding gum, yellowing of my teeth, cigarette made my clothes smell nasty, I observed other smokers who make smoking really looked unattractive having a cigarette hanging from the mouth.

I encourage anyone who wishes to stop, ask yourself what is the cost and true benefits of smoking. The benefits are poor health, an enormous yearly expense, and smell like smoke. I have found ways to channel my mind such as writing to you all, find support from friends and family to help you through this period, maybe start a yoga and meditation program, read a book, jogging, the practice of healthier eating habits, there are endless avenues to choose from finding things that interest you. Quit Smoking Today.

I began smoking at age 32 when I ran out of pot one day, I recently quit after going on a vacation where smoking wasn't an option, when I got back I just never bought another pack that was four months ago.

I came here after reading an answer to the question about page views in which you said you felt you were doing something wrong.

You may not be doing something right, post at least five backlinks on social networking sites (FB, BoltIt, PinIt, Digg, Twitter, etc.,), use Google Adwords to create your titles and tags, use the title at least five to eight times in the article.

Create links to other articles of yours and good sources of info (wikipedia, Yahoo, ABC, etc.,) in the content learn what a RSS feed is and use it.

You must promote yourself and make the article SEO friendly . . . also I like to shock my readers without being obscene, make them think!

The longest i have gone without smoking has been 6 months, all that i can tell you is that i quit cold turkey. I channel myself in directions that are of benefit to me and my family. You just need to recognize that smoking is an addiction that is expensive and is shortening your life span with every cigarette smoked. Find something that you like doing and do it well, you have control over you and you can do it man. It Is not easy but take it one day at a time that is what i do. I feel better my complexion has improved dramatically, my wife said to me i looked sexy yesterday, she hadn't told me that for a long time, then i smiled and said thanks then she said i love your smile. Man that had me smiling and blushing, imagine that after 21 years of marriage she still make me blush. By the way it is my wedding anniversary on Friday Oct 5. P.S. so i went to the mirror and took a closer look at my teeth they are white as ever. Just quit you will feel great, you will smell better, you will look healthier and you will have a few extra bucks in the bank. Good Luck, Keep in touch we can do this together if you like.

I am glad you have the strength to quit. How many times have you quit before and what is the longest you have gone without smoking prior to quitting the smoking habit forever. I have tried many things, cold turkey, zyban, hypnotherapy, girlfriend guilt, nicotine gum, nicotine patch, even group therapy. I still end up going back to smoking. To be perfectly honest the best i have ever done is a month and even then i was using an electronic cigarette.
