Cinnamon and Honey Health Benefits

Updated on July 10, 2017

It has been found that a combination of cinnamon and honey, in varying ratios, can cure or help relieve the symptoms of varying ailments. For those who prefer a more natural treatment method, it is a great way to improve your overall health without taking medications. These simple ingredients are not only a cheaper way to receive relief from various health problems, but also much tastier than pills and syrups. Cinnamon and honey taken together, in any ratio, can solve the health problems of an upset stomach, gas, influenza, and stomach cancer, as well as strengthening the immune system.

Bladder Infections

Studies have shown that mixing two tablespoons of cinnamon and one teaspoon of honey into a glass of warm water can help clear bladder infections by destroying germs in the bladder.

Arthritis

Trials at Copenhagen University have shown that arthritis patients who take one cup of hot water with two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder twice daily, morning and night, will be able to walk without pain within a month, even if they were unable to walk due to pain before beginning the regiment.

Cholesterol

Mixing sixteen ounces of tea water with two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of cinnamon powder can reduce the amount of cholesterol in the body by ten percent within two hours. Taking this mixture three times a day has been shown to cure chronic cholesterol problems.

Colds

One quarter teaspoon of cinnamon mixed with one tablespoon of lukewarm honey, taken daily for three days, can relieve most colds and clear the sinuses.

Heart Disease

A paste made of honey and cinnamon, and spread daily and eaten on bread, can revitalize arteries and veins in addition to lowering cholesterol, and can even prevent heart attack. It can relieve loss of breath, and strengthen the heart beat, preventing and helping patients recover from heart disease.

Complexion

Making three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder into a paste and applying it to pimples before sleeping can improve your complexion. Wash the mixture off the next morning with warm water. Repeat daily for two weeks, and pimples will be removed from the root.

Weight Loss

Taking a mixture of honey and cinnamon in the morning before breakfast and at night before bed can help you lose weight. One half hour before breakfast, as well as before bed at night, drink cinnamon and honey boiled in one cup of water. Drinking this concoction regularly does not allow fat to accumulate in the body, and can help you lose weight even with a high calorie diet.

Skin Infections

Mixing honey and cinnamon in equal parts and applying it to infected skin can cure infections such as eczema, ringworm, and other various skin problems.

Fatigue

Studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more beneficial to the body than it is detrimental. Taking honey and cinnamon in equal parts can make senior citizens more alert and more flexible. Vitality can be increased by taking this mixture in the morning and at 3pm, when the body begins to become fatigued from the day.
