Cold, so Cold, Within and Without.

Updated on November 25, 2012

I am cold, oh so cold, I´ m shivering

Here´s a blanket, my love, a fleece oh so warm.

No it won´t do nor more sweaters too,

I´m cold oh so cold, .You can do not a thing.

the feeling inside my body , just like this ice.
the feeling inside my body , just like this ice.

I feel cold as the ice in picture above,

I´m not ungrateful to you, my love.

Sweaters amd blankets can´t reach the depths

Of the coldness of which I speak..

I´ve tried and I´ve tried to put far behind

the door that is now closed for me.

Yet everyone tells me when one door is shut,

Another will open,...."You´ll see."

I cannot see, Im looking, I´m looking,

So hard that I feel I´ve gone mad.

No door is open, please tell me I´m wrong

Can you see a future , a new open door,

no I am left here, cold on the floor.

Would death e ´en be warmer,

Is it cold when we´re dead?

Ecclesiastes says no! chapter 9

will insist that nothing is felt see verse 5 .

So death is a comfort when I feel so cold.

Don´t tell me I hurt you with this.

It´s not my intention, but oh I´m so cold,

You cannot supply me with answer nor remedy

Though I´ve listened to all that you´ve said.

Perhaps it´s because I´m already dead.

I hope after reading all these comments above that you have found some warmth. Yet death is a cold cold feeling indeed, one can feel it from time to time creeping into our soul. I suppose one of the reasons that Hell was invented, so the flames of hell can warm our souls up should be ever go there? This prose has chilled me to the bone, let's share some hot toddy and warm up our hearts, it definitely will kill the chills. Hot chocolate will be fine, but give me the wine. LoL

The tea kettle just whistled. My frozen fingers need the warmth to continue after your freezing prose. I trust the door opens soon or at least you get a glimmer of the direction to follow :)

Oh, wow, well, what do you know, I had to sign back in and went under Firefox, and now the the image appears, wow beautiful but does give one that frozen feel. Can you imagine how very cold that blue water must be . . . NO, do not want to imagine! It is a very stunning image though.

I did notice your inclusion of Ecc. 9:5, and meant to comment on that . . .what a perfect scripture to include on this one indeed!!! Burrr . . . well, I am going to make my own hot chocolate then. LOL

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Thank you for such a wonderful comment. Oh what a shame , though that you can´t see the pic.

It´s a beautiful frozen lake, with trees high above it covered in snow, and from the trees down to the lake are icicles hanging.

I´m afraid inmy cold , bemused state, I have drunk all the chocolate. maybe next time. Ha Ha.!!(Did you spot my inclusion of Ecclesistis 9. verse 5, where it says the dead are concious of nothing at all?)

Boy, do I feel chilled to the very bone now after reading this write!!! I believe I have felt that very, very cold inside before, and it does feel as though one is dead, just from the sheer pain of whatever . . . you describe it very well in your chilling words. Any hot chocolate left by now? For some reason, on my computer the image is not showing up, but your words were enough, as my mind got the picture!

    Voted way up and sharing

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Hello Dim. I brought a mug of hot chocolate and a bag of animal crackers to share. Your poetry touched nerves. So many have this feeling, luckily for many spring arrives. Voted beautiful.
