Creating Health
“While I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember that everyone else and everything else are also God's creation.” - Maya Angelou
God created heavens and earth and all the wondrous things and each one of us out of his kindness, ingenuity, and creativeness. It’s really a magic beyond compare nobody can never do it again. God is really so good. And we should never forget all his creations and most of all what He has done for all of us: dying on the cross.
Nobody wanted to be sick. With the high costs of medicine, health care and hospitalization, no doubt everyone is so scared of being sick. I for one, I do not want to be sick and be hospitalized. I am praying a lot, watching my diet, taking my maintenance and trying to avoid stress.
Let me share with you the article I read from the Health magazine on creation and how to achieve mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. It is about creating health which can be an exciting plan for us to improve our lives and at the same time be more grateful to God who loves us unconditionally.
Health magazine used the word creation to acknowledge God and be more grateful. CREATION stands for one of the eight principles drawn from the Bible.
Choice.
Choice is our power and right to decide. It is the realization that when we decide there is more than one option available for us to choose from. To choose is to consider our future and trying to put hope in our hearts that the best things are yet to come. Every one of us has to aspire for a healthy, balanced life
Rest.
For in six days the Lord made the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is., and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it – Exodus 20-11.
Our bodies need rest to give time for the Lord and to refresh ourselves after a hard day’s work for a week. It is a very rewarding way where free ourselves from worries and concerns: a mental and emotional release. We can achieve rest through a calm and quiet good night’s sleep and through the tranquility of spiritual peace. Remember the special Sabbath rest that God created for us. Leaving behind our normal routine and spend one full day with Him and with family and friends would provide the needed vigor for us to challenge the rigors and stress of another week. We have to rest our bodies, our minds, and our souls.
Environment.
Creating a conducive environment can do a lot for all of us. Be it for business, work, play sleep, rest or a setting for romantic moments with the one we love. It’s a matter of choice; of course it depends on what you wish to do.
Activity.
Movement through regular exercise and play is the best kind of physical activity. It also enhances the mind, the spirit, and relationships. Activities like walking in a park, playing with kids, riding a bike and jogging in the neighborhood can be enjoyable and an integral part of our lifelong health.
Trust.
Trust in God brings the confidence that you rest secure; it’s the peace of knowing that you don’t have to be in control. Trusting in God allows you to keep your bearings as you navigate through the uncertainties of the world with assurance that your life has eternal purpose. Every one of us can show our trust and gratefulness to God through prayers. We can pray anywhere, anytime, or simply talk to Him with all our hearts. God hears and sees us and would generously give us what we pray for as long us we have faith in Him and believe in Him.
Intimacy.
Every one of us needs a good social life if we want to live longer and well. Social connections are crucial to good health as we grow older and we could best achieve it with our husband or wife, children, siblings and friends. Several analysts and noted psychologists say that being surrounded by loving, caring people in our lives not only makes us feel loved and cared for, but it also enhances our mental well-being. Connections add strength, stamina and vitality to our lives. After all, life was never meant to be alone.
Outlook.
Outlook is something about how one sees the world: positively or negatively. It is the colors on the palette with which you paint your life. A healthy outlook belongs to those who choose to open their minds to learn, stretch and grow.
Nutrition.
Energy makes us and things go. WE get our energy by eating foods that are good for our bodies. Nutritious food builds strength, and helps us grow, feel good and keep us from getting sick. But then, regardless of the so many available choices of foods around, we still have to be on guard of what we eat. We have to give attention to our serving sizes and consider smaller, more frequent meals. Make our meals consist primarily of fruits and vegetables rather than processed food.
