Creating Health

Updated on September 16, 2015

“While I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember that everyone else and everything else are also God's creation.” - Maya Angelou

God created heavens and earth and all the wondrous things and each one of us out of his kindness, ingenuity, and creativeness. It’s really a magic beyond compare nobody can never do it again. God is really so good. And we should never forget all his creations and most of all what He has done for all of us: dying on the cross.

Nobody wanted to be sick. With the high costs of medicine, health care and hospitalization, no doubt everyone is so scared of being sick. I for one, I do not want to be sick and be hospitalized. I am praying a lot, watching my diet, taking my maintenance and trying to avoid stress.

Let me share with you the article I read from the Health magazine on creation and how to achieve mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. It is about creating health which can be an exciting plan for us to improve our lives and at the same time be more grateful to God who loves us unconditionally.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. ~ World Health Organization, 1948

Creating health is a matter of choice.

We have to rest our bodies, our minds, and our souls.

Make your meals consist primarily of fruits and vegetables rather than processed food.

Health magazine used the word creation to acknowledge God and be more grateful. CREATION stands for one of the eight principles drawn from the Bible.

Choice.

Choice is our power and right to decide. It is the realization that when we decide there is more than one option available for us to choose from. To choose is to consider our future and trying to put hope in our hearts that the best things are yet to come. Every one of us has to aspire for a healthy, balanced life

Rest.

For in six days the Lord made the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is., and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it – Exodus 20-11.

Our bodies need rest to give time for the Lord and to refresh ourselves after a hard day’s work for a week. It is a very rewarding way where free ourselves from worries and concerns: a mental and emotional release. We can achieve rest through a calm and quiet good night’s sleep and through the tranquility of spiritual peace. Remember the special Sabbath rest that God created for us. Leaving behind our normal routine and spend one full day with Him and with family and friends would provide the needed vigor for us to challenge the rigors and stress of another week. We have to rest our bodies, our minds, and our souls.

Environment.

Creating a conducive environment can do a lot for all of us. Be it for business, work, play sleep, rest or a setting for romantic moments with the one we love. It’s a matter of choice; of course it depends on what you wish to do.

Activity.

Movement through regular exercise and play is the best kind of physical activity. It also enhances the mind, the spirit, and relationships. Activities like walking in a park, playing with kids, riding a bike and jogging in the neighborhood can be enjoyable and an integral part of our lifelong health.

Trust.

Trust in God brings the confidence that you rest secure; it’s the peace of knowing that you don’t have to be in control. Trusting in God allows you to keep your bearings as you navigate through the uncertainties of the world with assurance that your life has eternal purpose. Every one of us can show our trust and gratefulness to God through prayers. We can pray anywhere, anytime, or simply talk to Him with all our hearts. God hears and sees us and would generously give us what we pray for as long us we have faith in Him and believe in Him.

Intimacy.

Every one of us needs a good social life if we want to live longer and well. Social connections are crucial to good health as we grow older and we could best achieve it with our husband or wife, children, siblings and friends. Several analysts and noted psychologists say that being surrounded by loving, caring people in our lives not only makes us feel loved and cared for, but it also enhances our mental well-being. Connections add strength, stamina and vitality to our lives. After all, life was never meant to be alone.

Outlook.

Outlook is something about how one sees the world: positively or negatively. It is the colors on the palette with which you paint your life. A healthy outlook belongs to those who choose to open their minds to learn, stretch and grow.

Nutrition.

Energy makes us and things go. WE get our energy by eating foods that are good for our bodies. Nutritious food builds strength, and helps us grow, feel good and keep us from getting sick. But then, regardless of the so many available choices of foods around, we still have to be on guard of what we eat. We have to give attention to our serving sizes and consider smaller, more frequent meals. Make our meals consist primarily of fruits and vegetables rather than processed food.

Health is the state of being free from illness or injury. It is also a person's mental or physical condition. Good health is not just about having a sexy body, dealing with sports, having recreational activities and doing things to keep your body or physical appearance fit. Health also includes mental and social. In order to achieve good health, we must balance the eight principles drawn from the Bible. These principles will surely help us to improve ourselves and be literally HEALTHY inside and out.

A healthy lifestyle doesn't have to begin with big, dramatic, challenging change. Making small changes and incorporating them into your life slowly and incremental ly will increase the likehood that you will stick with the chance and want to do more. If you view any positive change as a small gift you give to yourself, to honor your body, mind, and spirit, it will make the change less intimidating and more natural. As modern dancer Martha Graham reminds, "The body is a sacred garment" we must treat it as such. In just one day, there are many small changes you can try to facilitate amazing health benifits and perhaps kick start an new healty habit for life.

People want to lead satisfying lives, and that includes feeling well. Health as defined by medicine is only part of feeling well, and yet the overwhelming majority of our society’s health investments go to the health care sector for clinical services or public health interventions. While these services are important, their dominance detracts from supporting other things that have the potential to create health.

To be healthy is not just about eating healthy foods and exercise, its all about how we will show our discipline. Discipline in eating good food, knowing the food that are not good to our health like junk foods and fatty foods and Discipline in exercising like doing the right exercise or having time to exercise. Being healthy person is not just about how fit or how good your body is as long as you're not getting sick you can say that you are healthy.

The word healthy is not only relating to your body it can also pertain to your mind. To have a healthy mind you need to think positive thought and try not to think to the negative because it will make you stressed which bad for our health. Always remember that our body is one of the most beautiful gift that we have received from god we need to take care our body so that we can be a healthy person. Always choose those healthy things for a healthy lifestyle. We should take care our health/body because it is a gift from God, and it is the temple of God. God created many things for our own sake. He create things for our health like environment, healthy foods and friends that will make us happy. We must be healthy physically and emotionally. Trust God and pray to him that give us healthy life. Don't also abuse our body, we should rest, not only physically but also mentally by going to church every Sunday and serve to God.

Being a healthy person its not enough to have a well built body or being slim, but also you need to have a right metabolism.Based on research a person eating three times a day doesn't mean they meet their daily needs in terms of nutrients that they need for healthy living, but the truth is they are just filling their stomach, filling is far different from supplying nutrients in our body.and according to the anonymous blogger making just a few changes in your lifestyle can help you live longer.

A recent study found that four bad behavior, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, not exercising, and not eating enough fruits and veggies, can hustle you into an early grave, and, in effect, age you by as many as 12 years.Fortunately, you can do something to correct these and other unhealthy behaviors. Adopt the following nine habits to keep your body looking and feeling young.

Healthcare is a fundamental right of every citizen irrespective of any socially constructed indices and developmental narratives. But this right is not an affordable luxury for all and sundry to enjoy. Owing to huge disparities on vertical and horizontal lines, people of developing countries lack adequate healthcare facilities.. Such issues of access to and availability of health-related facilities are largely influenced by social and economic conditions as well as health policies in place. Healthcare systems are the regulatory mechanism for meeting the health needs of the population. According to World Health Organization, a well-functioning healthcare system requires; vigorous financial system, reliable and educated information on which to base health-oriented policies and decisions, competent and specialized workforce, and well-maintained health facilities to deliver qualitative medicines and services.

Health plays the key role in determining the human capital. Better health improves the efficiency and the productivity of the labor force, thereby contributing in the economic growth and an improvement in the human development index. To attain more skilful, efficient and productive human capital resources, governments subsidies the health care facilities for its people. In this context, the governments of developing countries, like Pakistan are investing their energies and capital to improve its health care system.

Living a healthy lifestyle can be a challenge when you are faced with processed foods, lack of time for exercise and going out with friends. Too many options are available for fast food, poor exercise choices and alcoholic beverages that negate other healthier lifestyle choices you may have made. There are significant benefits to improving the way in which you live so you can have a healthier and longer life. One of the long-term benefits of living a healthier lifestyle is the prevention of diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. These changes can be difficult. Even though you may understand the relationship between eating specific foods and your risk for heart disease, it can be difficult to undo years of unhealthy eating habits. However, the benefit is the prevention of arthritis, osteoporosis, stroke, diabetes and other immune-mediated illnesses that are affected by the dietary and lifestyle choices we make every day. Changing lifestyle choices and eating healthy food are not about being unrealistically thin but rather about having more energy and staying as healthy as possible. Eating healthy can boost your energy levels and allow you to participate in more activities on a daily basis. overwhelming evidence that regular exercise also plays a role in increasing energy levels and reducing fatigue. People may not want to exercise while fatigued, a bit more activity will often help to reduce feelings of fatigue and exhaustion. The healthy lifestyle choices of stopping smoking, reducing alcohol intake and eating a well-balanced diet that is high in fruits and vegetables and low in processed foods and fats will help to maintain a healthy weight. Reducing weight to within normal limits can also significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and improve overall health and well-being. Your mental health also depends upon your healthy lifestyle choices. Eating well and exercising can help defend against depression and will sharpen your memory and stabilize your mood. By learning to expand your range of food choices and make smart lifestyle decisions, such as reducing or eliminating alcohol from the diet and stopping smoking, you can benefit with an improved mood and a better outlook on life.

BEING HEALTHY IS THE KEY TO LIFE

Many people go through their lives, trying to maintain a good body and good health. When a person is of good health, they are more likely to live a happier life. Being healthy is the key to surviving in this world, both mentally and physically. Some keys to being mentally and physically healthy are, eating right, staying in shape, being determined, and having a lot of People come in different shapes and sizes, and no one person is built the same. But many people often want to alter their sizes and shapes to feel better. Alteration of a person's appearance comes in many different forms such as dieting, exercise and even forced illnesses. The media seemingly has the most influence on why people want to change their appearance. With super skinny models and actors in the spotlight, its no wonder people want to look like them. But people need to think positively about themselves to remain healthy. Positivity causes a person to have high self-esteem, and they are usually less stressed. Many times, when a person is less stressed, they tend to keep weight off, instead of gain weight. Many times when people think they are fat, they naturally tend to go on a diet to lose weight. Most diet-goers go to special weight loss clinics or companies such as Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. What many people don't realize however, is that those diets are usually not going to help them lose weight in the long run and be healthier. People should diet based on their blood type. Your blood type reflects your internal chemistry and determines what foods you should eat, and ways to avoid the most troubling health problems. In the book "Eat Right for Your Type, it shows which foods, spices, teas, and condiments help a person of a certain blood type maintain optimal health and ideal weight.

How do we create Health? Isn't it given to have health? but now I understand why the title is CREATING Health. And I'll give what I comprehend.

"It is Health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver." -Mahatma Gandhi

First we define what health is.

(According to the World Health Organization) Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Simply stating that feeling good and well doesn't mean we have a good health. You can still feel good even being an overweight or an underweight---and to be one like that, it just means you don't have a healthy lifestyle which is a manifestation of having a good health.

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live." -Jim Rohn

Why do we need to maintain our Health?

Health if I compare it to an object I say it's a balance scale. At first, it has the same mass then so it's balanced. Once a side was reduced or increased, the balance won't be the same anymore and worse, one of the sides may fall out. Our Health is just like that, it is a natural balance of our body. Once it loses its equilibrium, we may fall into different physical and mental changes, some maybe sickness and worse is death.

"Health is an asset without equal" -Basque Proverb

Just so we know, once our health is damaged, we either suffer from getting it back or do nothing at all because Health can never be replaced. Besides, maintaining a good health is not a baggage we carry, it is our responsibility to take care of it because just like a bible verse says: 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

He who has Health has Hope; and he who has hope, has everything -Arabian Proverb

How to create good health? Based from the article, what I've learned is that:

      Choice

      - We have the right to decide what we can do and not do with our health. It's just a matter of choosing what will happen to our life.

      Rest

      - We need it release tensions in our body and mind. A good rest is what we needed after a long day of stress and fatigue for our health.

      Environment

      - Creating a good environment for our health can make life more joyful and worth-living. In fact, many people are more prone to bad health and habits in an environment where they seems to feel "clogged" and ill. So it is a big factor we should consider.

      Activity

      - Physical activities like exercising, bicycling, yoga and many more can improve your physical health accompanied by mental activities like solving puzzles, reading books are good for the health because it can avoid you to starting bad health habits and stress.

      Trust

      - Health with trust in ourselves that we can always make it through is good but trust in God is better because faithfulness and trust in Him is what completes a good health.

      Intimacy

      - Just like they always say "no man is an island." Every one of us needed a social life where we can feel loved and belonged otherwise we will feel alone, dejected, sad, doubtful and hopeless. If it became serious, it can lead to depression and mental sickness and worse it can be the cause of many ending their lives.

      Outlook

      - Positive outlook in life enhances our health because if we have a good outlook, whatever happens in our life, we won't be so affected by it.

      Nutrition

      - Focusing to good eating habits can give us desired health. It starts with good nutrition. If we eat right and avoided junk foods, our body will feel energized and sick-free. If we learn to eat nutritious foods then we don't have to bother going to a doctor even for a year.

Without HEALTH, there is no meaning to LIFE. Because living is like a prison if you can't even enjoy living healthy and worry-free.

And how nice to live a future that the only medicine and cure will only be our precautions because we live and created good health.

Practice healthy living styles with proper food habits and exercise. To achieve a healthy body, we cannot be lazy and lethargic. We need to work hard, both physically and mentally to be fit and healthy. Exercise and eating healthy foods is essential to promote a healthy body. Exercise 30 minutes 5 days a week. Exercising in the morning can leave you with a refreshed feeling throughout the day and can put you in a good mental health and it will be easier for you to think positively and generate a better appetite. You can also get involved in activities such as swimming, biking, walking or playing your favorite sport in order to keep you healthy.

Realize that positive thinking is very essential in order to be healthy. Clear out your mind of all negative thoughts and fill it with positive ones. You will have to remove all the depressing and negative emotions and thoughts from your mind and replace it with healthy and positive thoughts. These positive thoughts can be extremely energizing and always lead to good things in life. You can get involved in practices such as meditation and yoga to get rid of the negativity and force yourself with positive thoughts.

Health is the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living organism. In humans it is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental or social challenges. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in its 1948 constitution as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition has been subject to controversy, in particular as lacking operational value and because of the problem created by use of the word "complete" Other definitions have been proposed, among which a recent definition that correlates health and personal satisfaction. Classification systems such as the WHO Family of International Classifications, including the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), are commonly used to define and measure the components of health. Health is that balanced condition of the living organism in which the integral, harmonious performance of the vital functions tends to the preservation of the organism and the normal development of the individual.

Systematic activities to prevent or cure health problems and promote good health in humans are undertaken by health care providers. Applications with regard to animal health are covered by the veterinary sciences. The term "healthy" is also widely used in the context of many types of non-living organizations and their impacts for the benefit of humans, such as in the sense of healthy communities, healthy cities or healthy environments. In addition to health care interventions and a person's surroundings, a number of other factors are known to influence the health status of individuals, including their background, lifestyle, and economic, social conditions, and spirituality; these are referred to as "determinants of health." Studies have shown that high levels of stress can affect human health.

We live in a world where not many of us have time to keep healthy or stay fit. Is it really that important to eat healthily? The answer to that question is yes! And it is much easier than you’d first think!

Healthy living is a combination of so many things, some psychological, some physical. The first step to living a healthy life is to think positive. The next is the need to motivate your self to take part in any fitness-style activity. It is all very good and well saying, “I will take up fitness as part of my every-day routine,” but you need to actually motivate yourself to do it (Null 2007).

Fitness is one of the first steps you can take to live a healthy lifestyle. Just a small amount of exercise everyday, whether it be taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or walking to the next bus stop, will make all the difference. You don’t have to be a fitness freak to be healthy; you just have to partake in a small amount of physical exercise everyday to maintain a good level of fitness. Not only will it improve your lifestyle and make for a healthy living, but you will also find that this added amount of exercise will also increase your energy levels, meaning you will feel less lethargic during your day.

You may not enjoy spending hours working out at the gym or running for hours on end, and the news is, you don’t have to, there is a physical activity out there to suit everybody. Swimming is not only relaxing, but also good for not only losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle; it also improves muscle definition and provides a healthy, toned looking figure.

Exercising is only way in which you can obtain a healthy living. Eating correctly and providing your body with right levels of nutrition is also good. In today’s society, so many people just simply do not have the time or money to buy and prepare fresh, healthy food everyday. However, it doesn’t have to be as difficult as you would first imagine (hc-sc.gc.ca 2007 [online source])

Something simple, like swapping your mid-day chocolate bar or fissy drink to a fruit juice or an apple, will again, improve your health and help you maintain the right level of calories that your body needs.

You don’t have to starve yourself to death in order to be nutritious. It’s just a case of eating the right foods. Obviously, eating a lifetime’s supply of chocolate in under a week is never going to get you the body, or level of fitness you desire! It’s basically down to common sense. Fruit and vegetables are healthy; therefore you should eat more of them. You should ideally be aiming for at least five portions of fruit and vegetables per day. You should also aim to drink at least eight pints of water per day (Jensen 2000).

Being nutritious is not as hard ad you may think. Changing a few simple things will do you the world of good. Cut down on sugar in your tea; change from butter to margarine, even something as small as having low-fat versions of drinks and condiments will make a difference.

Obviously, what works for everybody else, may not necessarily work for you. If you want to get the optimum levels of nutrition for your body, you could see a dietician that will tell you, explicitly, what you should be eating, and what you should be cutting down on. You can also read books and websites dedicated to helping you lose weight and reach optimum fitness. All you need to do is find a way that works for you.

Nutrition and fitness is essential for a healthy living. Not only will you look and feel good, but by eating the right things and doing the right amount of exercise, you could also lower your chances of getting some pretty serious life-threatening diseases. Heart disease, for example, is one of the biggest killers in overweight people. It’s your decision, at the end of the day, whether you want a healthy living or not, but you should be aware, that it is not difficult and you can do it!

The word health is an important factor today in everybody life because if we are physically and mentally healthy then we can definitely enjoy a healthy life too. A good and a strong health is not something that is sold at a grocery store but it is something that we have to create and also maintain at the same time. A good health is achieved by following a few collective patterns which are health related. If we follow this logic then we will also realise the importance of having a healthy lifestyle which will add to the benefits of having a healthy life. One can start with following the pattern of eating the right things at the right time and also exercising too. These healthy patterns will help to lead to reduced illness which in turn will also help save a lot of money that we turn up spending for recovering from various illnesses.

Many of us might suffer from health problems in some course of our lives. But in children, teenagers there are few who might never suffer from any health problem since childhood till they are aged. They are lucky to have stayed so and hence they may feel surprised to see others with health disturbances. Even more, they may not be careful of their health, neglecting all the while and even habituate some habits like smoking,, drinking etc with a thought that they will stay health always. But the damage they cause onto to themselves will surely be seen after certain age and there will be minimum chances to correct them. So for those and all of us, it is better to have some idea of importance of health in daily life.

How can we lead a healthy lifestyle ?

A healthy lifestyle means maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet as well as engaging in sports or other fitness related activities. A healthy diet alone however is inadequate to ensure a healthy body as physical activity helps to keep one in shape and free of sickness and disease.

According to the World Health Organization, only one in ten people exercise regularly and a majority do not follow a healthy diet. The main culprit is our penchant for junk food as can be seen from the popularity of fast food chains and other western eateries. even local foods such as fried noodles, friend rice and snacks and savories are laden with fat and calories. Thus, consuming this type of food on a daily basis can contribute to weight gain. Overweight and obese people suffer from many health complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even cancer.

Hence, the emphasis on healthy lifestyle should start at a young age. Parents must urge their children to eat more vegetables, fruits, juices, wholemeal and wholegrain foods. Many parents, due to time constraint, usually find the easy way out by cooking two-minute noodles or heading towards the nearest fast food joint for quick meal. They do not realize however that sets the stage for an unhealthy lfestyle for their children who quickly become addicted to such foods. Thus, parents can counter this problem by cooking or preparing meals that do not take up time such as cheese sandwiches, soup, stir friend vegetables or buy pre-packed meals from supermarkets which can be warmed up in the microwave oven.

Dining out usually involves eating heavily and unhealthily. Most of us are prone to ordering deep fried food and oily dishes as opposed to steamed or baked food. Thus, though eating out is unavoidable, parents of children and adults as a hole should order fresh food and foods that are nutritious and not laden with oil, fat or sugar. Once a pattern of healthy eating is established, it would be easier to carry through such a lifestyle and for the children to follow suit.

School canteens must be urged to sell only highly nutritious food and drinks. Vending machines that sell soft drinks and drinks that are spiked with sugar should be banned. Hence, school going children would be exposed to healthy eating form young.

Daily exercise is vital. In fact, schools should implement Physical education on a daily basis rather than twice weekly. Only the minority are actively involved in sports. Most students are sedentary and prefer to concentrate on their studies as they consider indulging in physical activities a waste of time. By enforcing regular exercise daily, these students would be exposed to the importance and benefits of exercise.

Many parents and adults do not allocate time for physical activity. A large number of them work long hours and return home late thereby depriving themselves of the benefits of exercise. Parents must lead an exemplary life which can benefit their children by increasing awareness on the health benefits of exercising regularly. Bringing their children for walks in the morning or evening is a good start to achieve this goal. They should become members of clubs which have swimming pools and gym facilities. During the weekend, the family can strengthen their bond by adjourning to clubs for exercise and a healthy meal after that.

In short, leading a healthy lifestyle is a conscious decision. One can ignore that and lead a life that exposes one to many healthy hazards. it is important to recognize that a healthy living ensures a longer life span as well as a life free of disease and complications.

Being healthy is not just about what you eat, even though that is a big portion. Being healthy is about how you treat your body, meaning what you put into it, and the type of things you put your body through. Most people think being healthy is an expensive and difficult lifestyle. It is really not much different or much more expensive than the way that most people live now. People are just reluctant to make changes in their lives. So these are merely excuses that hold people back from leading healthy lives.

One thing that can be done to lead a healthier life style is to change the way you eat. Everyone should eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean meats, whole grains and healthy oils and fats. Another component to being healthy is exercise. It takes exercise to maintain a healthy body. You should exercise daily, even if it is just for an hour. Exercising keeps the body in shape and youthful. People who exercise also have good strength and are able to perform physical activity for a good amount of time.

Exercise is also proven to produce endorphins that make you feel better. Some people claim they are too busy to exercise, but there are some simple ways that exercise can be incorporated into a busy life. Some examples are going on walks, pushing children in a stroller, doing pushups and sit ups at home, and stretching. Exercising can be fun if you make it, but anyone can do it without a gym membership.

Being healthy is also about the choices you make. If you put drugs and alcohol into your body on a regular basis then you are abusing your body. Alcohol is full of empty calories that cause weight gain. This is not a healthy choice. Your body works very hard to keep you healthy so you should not do things that work against your body.

Another thing anyone can do to maintain a healthy style is take multivitamins. Some people have to take multi vitamin supplement because they are deficient in certain things, but some people take them just to stay ahead and make sure their body is getting the essential vitamins and minerals that they need.

Having a healthy lifestyle is what you make it. It is not as hard and expensive as people say. It is just people having to change habits and get used to eating healthier. Eating healthy, taking vitamin supplements, and exercising are all part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

All humans have to eat food for growth and maintenance of a healthy body, but we humans have different requirements as infants, children (kids), teenagers, young adults, adults, and seniors. For example, infants may require feeding every four hours until they gradually age and begin to take in more solid foods. Eventually they develop into the more normal pattern of eating three times per day as young kids. However, as most parents know, kids, teenagers, and young adults often snack between meals. Snacking is often not limited to these age groups because adults and seniors often do the same.

      Tips:

Eat three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner); it is important to remember that dinner does not have to be the largest meal.

The bulk of food consumption should consist of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk products.

Choose lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts (with emphasis on beans and nuts).

Choose foods that are low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars; look at the labels because the first listed items on the labels comprise the highest concentrations of ingredients.

Control portion sizes; eat the smallest portion that can satisfy hunger and then stop eating.

Snacks are OK in moderation and should consist of items like fruit, whole grains, or nuts to satisfy hunger and not cause excessive weight gain.

Avoid sodas and sugar-enhanced drinks because of the excessive calories in the sodas and sugar drinks; diet drinks may not be a good choice as they make some people hungrier and increase food consumption.

Avoid eating a large meal before sleeping to decrease gastroesophageal reflux and weight gain.

If a person is angry or depressed, eating will not solve these situations and may make the underlying problems worse.

Avoid rewarding children with sugary snacks; such a pattern may become a lifelong habit for people.

Avoid heavy meals in the summer months, especially during hot days.

A vegetarian lifestyle has been promoted for a healthy lifestyle and weight loss; vegetarians should check with their physicians to be sure they are getting enough vitamins, minerals, and iron in their food.

Cooking foods (above 165 F) destroys most harmful bacteria and other pathogens; if you choose to eat uncooked foods like fruits or vegetables, they should be thoroughly washed with running treated (safe to drink) tap water right before eating.

Avoid eating raw or undercooked meats of any type.

      Healthy Diet: The Building Blocks

The best source of meal planning for most Americans is the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Food Pyramid. The pyramid, updated in 2005, suggests that for a healthy diet each day you should eat:

6 to 8 servings of grains. These include bread, cereal, rice, and pasta, and at least 3 servings should be from whole grains. A serving of bread is one slice while a serving of cereal is 1/2 (cooked) to 1 cup (ready-to-eat). A serving of rice or pasta is 1/2 cup cooked (1 ounce dry). Save fat-laden baked goods such as croissants, muffins, and donuts for an occasional treat.

2 to 4 servings of fruits and 4 to 6 servings of vegetables. Most fruits and vegetables are naturally low in fat, making them a great addition to your healthy diet. Fruits and vegetables also provide the fiber, vitamins, and minerals you need for your body’s systems to function at peak performance. Fruits and vegetables also will add flavor to a healthy diet. It's best to serve them fresh, steamed, or cut up in salads. Be sure to skip the calorie-laden toppings, butter, and mayonnaise, except on occasion. A serving of raw or cooked vegetables is equal to 1/2 cup (1 cup for leafy greens); a serving of a fruit is 1/2 cup or a fresh fruit the size of a tennis ball.

2 to 3 servings of milk, yogurt, and cheese. Choose dairy products wisely. Go for fat-free or reduced-fat milk or cheeses. Substitute yogurt for sour cream in many recipes and no one will notice the difference. A serving of dairy is equal to 1 cup of milk or yogurt or 1.5 to 2 ounces of cheese.

2 to 3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts. For a healthy diet, the best ways to prepare beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, and fish is to bake or broil them. Look for the words “loin” or “round” in cuts of meats because they're the leanest. Remove all visible fat or skin before cooking, and season with herbs, spices, and fat-free marinades. A serving of meat, fish, or poultry is 2 to 3 ounces. Some crossover foods such as dried beans, lentils, and peanut butter can provide protein without the animal fat and cholesterol you get from meats. A ¼ cup cooked beans or 1 tablespoon of peanut butter is equal to 1 ounce of lean meat.

Use fats, oils, and sweets sparingly. No diet should totally eliminate any one food group, even fats, oils, and sweets. It’s fine to include them in your diet as long as it’s on occasion and in moderation, Bickston says.

Healthy Diet: Eat Right and the Right Amount

How many calories you need in a day depends on your sex, age, body type, and how active you are. Generally, active children ages 2 to 8 need between 1,400 and 2,000 calories a day. Active teenage girls and women can consume about 2,200 calories a day without gaining weight. Teenage boys and men who are very active should consume about 3,000 calories a day to maintain their weight. If you're not active, you calorie needs drop by 400 to 600 calories a day.

The best way to know how much to eat is to listen to your body, says Donald Novey, MD, an integrative medicine physician with the Advocate Medical Group in Park Ridge, Ill. “Pull away from the table when you’re comfortable but not yet full. Wait about 20 minutes,” he says. “Usually your body says, ‘That’s good.’ If you’re still hungry after that, you might want to eat a little more.”

Healthy Diet: Exercise Is Part of the Plan

At the bottom of the new USDA food pyramid is a space for exercise. Exercise is an important component of a well-balanced diet and good nutrition. You can reap "fabulous rewards," says Dr Novey, just by exercising and eating “a healthy diet of foods that nature provides.

Medicine’s narrow definition of health reinforces this dominance, which determines what we value, how we design interventions, and what we measure to determine success or failure. This is all too apparent in the requirements of funders, the experiences of implementers, and the perspectives of evaluators.

So I suggest that you should take care of your self physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you want to be healthy, you should try to at least do these things:

      - Pray

      - Eat healthy and exercise

      - Live life happily and to the fullest

      - MANY MORE

      "HEALTHY LIFESTYLE"

We all want to be healthier, but why? What's our real purpose? Even the strongest resolve can collapse if you're trying to change for someone else—get thinner for a spouse, quit smoking for a nagging mother, exercise because you're supposed to.

Love yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle.

obesity is the health issue that increasing in number, especially in developed countries, which draws people's attention to stay healthy by adopting balanced diet. some people believe well organised diet is the most important factor contributes to healthy life but i have different point of view on it.

it is obvious that well organised diet would helps improving body states. in modern city, meal with little vegetables is commonly seen which caused constipation. balanced diet with adequate greenies can ease the stomach congestion. moreover, green leaves provide diverse essential vitamins and antioxidants that promote proper physical development, strengthen immune system and against ageing.

on top of this, employing healthy menu helps tackling the increasing obesity issue, which is related to many chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetic and stroke. besides, the problem is getting serious among young people with the affection of fast food culture. through taking dietician's advice and regulating daily intake, the risk of having such persistent disease would be greatly reduced.

however, in my opinion, it is not enough to stay healthy by adopting balanced diet only. having regular exercise can not only helps burning excessive body fat but improving cardiovascular functionalities. constructing proper sleep pattern is crucial to keep focus on daily activities. in addition, often participating in social parties can contributes to mental health.

to sum up, a balanced diet is elemental to maintain health by providing sufficient nutrients, regulating body functions and proper amount of calories to human body. however, other factors are as important construct healthy habit as diet.

If you want to achieve a healthy body that you want? I can say is "Work for it"

Better health is central to human happiness and well-being. It also makes an important contribution to economic progress, as healthy populations live longer, are more productive, and save more.

      • Routine maintenance: Develop positive coping skills, such as meditation and visualization, and look for activities, such as yoga or exercise, to keep your baseline stress level in check.

      • Breakthrough stress: Find ways to handle stressful situations that flare up without warning.

      • Check your perspective. Ask yourself, "Will this matter to me a year from now?" If not, why are you getting so wound up?

      • Volunteer. Helping to meet other peoples' needs may make your own problems seem smaller.

      • Keep a gratitude journal. Write down the positive people, events, and things that you're thankful for. "It really switches the focus to, 'Wow, look how much I have, "Most stress is caused by wishing things were different than they are now."

      • Breathe. One of the breathing exercises that is to count your breaths for a minute, and then try to cut that number of breaths in half for the next minute.

Creating health is very important to our body and daily life.

You may have new motivation to lose weight, eat better, or improve your overall health. Resolutions can be successful, if you pay attention to your habits and you're open to change. Keep in mind that you can succeed with hard work. And always pray to God that give you a healthy body and guide you everyday.

Make it Fun. If you don't enjoy doing something, you aren't going to stick with it. Find ways to make your lifestyle change as enjoyable as possible. Exercise with a friend, learn to cook healthy foods that are delicious, or find a meditation program that really resonates with you.

As a STUDENT we need maintaining a good healthy through diet and exercise, maintaining good mental health, and keeping up relationships can be very difficult for students saddled with daily exams, quizzes, and projects. Thankfully, a few simple steps can be taken to make healthy living a breeze. Incorporating a few minutes of exercise into your daily routine through walking or biking is a great way to stay fit, and learning to cook will give you the tools you need to make healthy dietary choices.

      Nutrition and Eating Right

With a limited budget and 24/7 access to fast food and snacks, college students can face big challenges while trying to eat right. Learning how to cook is one of the best things that college kids can do for their health. Students are less likely to go out to eat during the week if they have planned several nutritious meals in advance, and having the skills needed to put together a meal can be useful for years to come and will help you stay fit in the long run. It’s also important to keep a variety of healthy snacks on hand. Eating raw veggies, fruits, and nuts between meals will give you the energy you need to tackle those study sessions.

      Exercise

Getting enough exercise is vital for students to have a healthy body and sharp mind. Many students find it difficult to stick to an exercise routine, so it’s important to realize that exercise does not have to happen all at once. Walking or biking to class is a great way to keep in shape during the semester. A person needs about 30 minutes of cardio three times a week to stay healthy, and that time can be broken up throughout the day. Ten minutes of jumping jacks in the morning, a bike ride to class, and sit-ups at night will meet the cardio requirement for your day. Most schools have state-of-the-art gyms that offer a variety of group exercise classes. Finding a form of exercise that you enjoy is the ticket to staying healthy while in college.

      Study Breaks

Studying regularly has been shown to be much easier on the brain than cramming for tests. When students cram the night before an exam, it puts a huge amount of stress on the brain. Intense studying forces the brain to work much harder than it should, leaving lots of room for error – like completely forgetting the material during the exam. It’s much healthier to study for short periods on a regular basis. When longer study sessions are in order, frequent study breaks are key to maintaining good mental health. Get up, walk around the room, and stretch your arms, neck, and back. This will improve your blood flow and help you concentrate.

All of stundent like me we need to do something to maintaining good health and we make a spend a lilttle time to do exercise your body and to eat some good foods to contain your energy in our body and your mental health.

In order to be totally healthy you must achieve being physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy. Being able to be physically healthy we must stay active; we should work out all our body parts, eat healthy food, get enough sleep because studies show that sleep can add up to 11 years of your life. The amount of sleep you need varies between people, but most people need to get at least get 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night in order to function at their highest capacity. Also, we must practice a proper hygiene and drink the right amount of water. In terms of having a healthy mind we must control our actions; if were about to burst try doing a simple breathing exercise. Be alert and focused. Don’t let your mind take you away from the present. Don't dwell on your mistakes. Try to take note of what you think went wrong so that you don't make the same mistake again later. Recognize your achievements and don't discount them. When you accomplish something, be proud. Instead of having thoughts like "I should have done better" think "I did great, I'm awesome." Make time to relax. Take a few minutes a day to do some yoga or meditation. Share your feelings with others and lastly be mindful of your relationships with others. Be loving and respectful of others. Don't bring people down. Do your best to resolve conflicts that you have with others in your life. The last and most important of all, you must be spiritually healthy. Pray regularly and continually, make time to talk to God. Read the Bible and treasure the important statements written on it. Worship Him and have good fellowship with your church members. Don't skip because "you're tired". Stay in touch with church members. Praise God and worship him; thank Him and most importantly live according to God's Word. Follow the Ten Commandments. Help others. Try to be righteous and not fall into temptation. According to John F. Kennedy “Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

According to HelpGuide.org, eating smart is about both what you eat and how you eat. Eating healthy can boost your energy levels and allow you to participate in more activities on a daily basis. According to a study at the University of Georgia, researchers found overwhelming evidence that regular exercise also plays a role in increasing energy levels and reducing fatigue. Researcher Patrick O'Connor, from the exercise physiology laboratory at the University of Georgia, commented that while people may not want to exercise while fatigued, a bit more activity will often help to reduce feelings of fatigue and exhaustion.

Your mental health also depends upon your healthy lifestyle choices. According to HelpGuide.org, eating well and exercising can help defend against depression and will sharpen your memory and stabilize your mood. By learning to expand your range of food choices and make smart lifestyle decisions, such as reducing or eliminating alcohol from the diet and stopping smoking, you can benefit with an improved mood and a better outlook on life.

Food: Food is another necessary thing for the body. Nutritious foods helps us to maintain good health. Consumption of healthy foods helps us to minimize any health related problems. We all should know, how, when and what to eat.

We should always include a portion of green vegetables, fruits or salads in our meal. Green vegetables are sources of vital nutrients. Our digestive system plays a key role in our overall health. Fiber rich foods such as whole grain wheat, bran rice, etc. help us improve our digestive system.

A balanced and nutritious diet helps the proper growth of the body. But we must remember that we eat to live and not that we live to eat. In India, over-eating causes a large number of deaths. If we eat less, we may live more.

Physical exercise and sports: We know the proverb, “A sound mind in a sound body”. In order to keep the body healthy, we need to keep the mind sound. Physical exercises keep us fit. There are different kinds of physical exercises. We may walk a kilometer or two every day. We may take some yogic exercises. At the same, games and sports are very useful for health.

Health is the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of a living organism. In humans it is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental or social challenges. Achieving and maintaining health is an ongoing process, shaped by both the evolution of health care knowledge and practices as well as personal strategies and organized interventions for staying healthy.

An important way to maintain your personal health is to have a healthy diet. A healthy diet includes a variety of plant-based and animal-based foods that provide nutrients to your body. Such nutrients give you energy and keep your body running. Nutrients help build and strengthen bones, muscles, and tendons and also regulate body processes (i.e. blood pressure). The food guide pyramid is a pyramid-shaped guide of healthy foods divided into sections. Each section shows the recommended intake for each food group (i.e. Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates, and Sugars). Making healthy food choices is important because it can lower your risk of heart disease, developing some types of cancer, and it will contribute to maintaining a healthy weight.

Physical exercise enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It strengthens muscles and improves the cardiovascular system.

Food and eating environments likely contribute to the increasing epidemic of obesity and chronic diseases, over and above individual factors such as knowledge, skills, and motivation. Environmental and policy interventions may be among the most effective strategies for creating population-wide improvements in eating. This review describes an ecological framework for conceptualizing the many food environments and conditions that influence food choices, with an emphasis on current knowledge regarding the home, child care, school, work site, retail store, and restaurant settings. Important issues of disparities in food access for low-income and minority groups and macrolevel issues are also reviewed. The status of measurement and evaluation of nutrition environments and the need for action to improve health are highlighted.
