Cucumber and Green Rubbing Alcohol

I'm not one to complain a lot unless I'm really upset about something or I'm in really bad pain. Whether it's low, moderate or high it doesn't matter, pain to me is pain and I dread the winter months which is quickly approaching where I live.

I don't have to rely on the weather forecast because my aching hip and upper back pain informs me of when those very cold days are approaching. In the past, I've had 3 cervical neck fusions, it was quite an ordeal for me. I had severe numbness in both my hands and my feet. I remember the first surgery because it was the worst! The doctors removed a bone from my hip to be placed or fused in my neck because of a broken vertebrate of c3 through c5. C meaning cervical. I had to wear this heavy plastic neck brace for 6 weeks until I healed. I was in the hospital for 4 days. I had to sleep sitting upright and I couldn't take showers or wash my hair until the doctors removed this heavy brace. This was back in 1998. It was quite an experience. I've had 2 more surgeries since then and I was so amazed at how medical technology had changed since my first surgery.

The second one took place in 2001 and it was quite different from the first. I had another broken vertebrate slightly below the first fusion which was c6-c8, this time the bone that had to be replaced came from a bone bank. I was in the hospital for 2 days. I thank God they did not have to take another bone from my other hip. I wore a soft neck collar for 3 weeks then the doctor said I could remove it.

My third surgery took place January this year (2009) and amazingly I was in the hospital overnight for a cervical fusion of c1 & c2 and I was able to walk out with out any neck brace.

I thank God that all 3 surgeries were a success and my orthopedic surgeon was really great in getting me all fixed up again. I'm limited as how far I can turn my neck at times but the blessing is there is no more numbness in my hands and feet. I've been through the worst so I can deal with my hip pain in the winter because I've been introduced to a great remedy that works for me and if you suffer with joint pain, muscle or arthritis, this home remedy may help you.

All you need is a bottle of green rubbing alcohol an empty jar and some cucumber slices.

Slice the cucumbers in a jar then pour in the green rubbing alcohol into the jar over the cucumbers. Let stand for a week until the alcohol has saturated the cucumber. The longer it stands the more potency it will have. You can add as many cucumbers and alcohol as you like for a bigger batch. The silica in cucumbers is an essential component for healthy connective tissue which includes intracellular cement, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bone.

The cucumber juice is often recommended as a source of silicon to improve the complexion and health of the skin, plus cucumber's high water content makes it naturally hydrating - a must for glowing skin.

After you've allowed the aging of the cucumbers and alcohol, then apply one of the cucumbers to the pain area by rubbing it into the joint or muscle. You'll feel a heat sensation penetrating down into joint which feels so wonderful! For best results, I recommend you take a hot shower and before going to bed rub a cucumber into the pain area and go to bed. In the morning, the pain should be minimal or the pain will be gone!

It's a wonderful home remedy, I love it and I recommend it. I hope it works for you.

      I have been reading about this natural remedy,and I want to try to make this for myself do I have too use green alcohol,thank you for the time.

      My son plays football and what I have done for the last 6 years is this:

      Slice cucumber up into a blender skin and all.

      Turn blender on and slowly add green rubbing alcohol until it has the consistency of a gel.

      I put the gel into a glass jar along with an ace bandage and allow it to sit for 3-4 days

      Then place in the refrigerator to get cold.

      Rap injured joint with cold bandage the combination of the cold and cucumber reduces the swelling and pain within 3 hours.
