DMAE and its effects on the brain

Updated on August 21, 2012

What is DMAE?

DMAE is the short form for Dimethylaminoethanol and it is one of the choline precursors. DMAE is liquid but combined with bitartrate, it will become solid and it can be used as a dietary supplement. DMAE can be also used externally in skin care products, working as an anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle agent.

What are the effects of DMAE?

DMAE is known to have a positive effect on the mood, it enables a better mood status and it also improves focus, attention, mental energy and mental clarity. Combined with Alpha-GPC, these substances will have a synergic effect, it means that together they will have a prolonged effect. These are very powerful substances and their dosage should be increased only gradually, due to the most common side-effect: they may cause insomnia, for a short term, however. Various studies have shown that DMAE can be successfully used in the treatment of ADHD and other attention deficit disorders.

DMAE is known to:

  • improve focus, concentration and attention, while conferring a peaceful state of mind, so you will feel relaxed and focused: the perfect recipe for high efficiency.

  • boost memory as it is one of the precursors of the ‘’memory neurotransmitter’’ called acetylcholine. Its effect is beneficial on the memory, as the subjects that have experienced this substance state that they had a clearer state of mind, with an increased ability to come up with memories.

  • increase overall energy, that is why this substance is favorite amongst sportsmen of all types.

  • increases alertness, assertiveness and motivation and reduces anxiety and apathy.

  • improves the process of learning and brain functionality

affects the quality of sleep, the dreams become more vivid and lucid and helps getting a sounder sleep.

DMAE in the NZT product

DMAE may have a synergic effect when it is actively combined with other brain-active substances as Gingko biloba, Phosphatidyl Serine and Alpha-GPC. You can find all these ingredients carefully combined in the product NZT.1 from Paneuromix. The dose of DMAE used in NZT.1 is 200 mg.

Paneuromix has developed a nootropic formula, also called smart drug or cognitive enhancer. This type of products are ideal for those who want to improve their concentration, attention, memory and stress resistance. NZT.1contains 16 active ingredients, so called nootropics like the famous ginseng, ginkgo biloba and rhodiola rosea, alpha-GPC and DMAE.Due to the special formula, the beneficial effects can be felt during the whole day.
