Updated on July 9, 2019

Lemon, aptly described by Wikipedia as a very sharp acidic citrus fruit with a shiny yellow skin and bitter zingy flavour that is rich in vitamin C but low in sugar. Its exact origin was not clearly known but believed to have been founded first in India, Northern Burma and China, being used in the south and Southeast Asia as a very powerful antidote for various poisons with its antiseptic properties. Its genetic origin, however, was reported to be hybrid between sour orange & citron.

In this world and times faced with dilemma’s concerning various kinds of deadly disease such as Cancer, and had caused early demise of many, one has to wonder how on earth did such a deadly malady had existed only to be told that there’s no such way to beat this unless there is sufficient money to afford those horribly expensive medicines and chemotherapy sessions that either succeed or at least prolong lives, but most often…claims the lives of the millions of people all over the continent which unluckily may include one or two from our families or friends and leave us not only emotionally devastated but leaves their pockets financially broke.

Amazingly, there was some kind of good news about a cheap alternative against Cancer…Lemon widely known for its citric, sour sweet taste has been founded to be 10,000 times stronger that is able to slow down the growth of cancer cells and does not affect the healthy cells that the usual “chemotherapy” does. A simple fruit with a pleasant taste as compared to the horrible effects of chemotherapy and radiation, which has been proven as an alternative remedy against cancers of all types, notwithstanding all the other benefits derived from this yellow golden wonder fruit. Source of information came from one large pharmaceutical company in the world stating that after more than 20 laboratory tests concluded since 1970, lemon extracts revealed fascinating results that can destroy 12 malignant cells in 12 cancers that include colon, breast, prostate, lungs and pancreas.

Lemon is credited for its many virtues, but the most interesting is its effect against cysts and tumours. Lemon is a fruit that contains flavonoid, a composite that holds antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. Known for its therapeutic property since generations,it helps to strengthen your immunity system and cleanses your stomach. It is not only a blood purifier but also enables body to fight diseases. Lemon also helps to prevent diabetes constipation, high blood pressure, skin care, fever, hair care, dental care, indigestion and many other health problems. Studies conducted by a reliable health institution in the U.S. highlight the fact that lemonade or lemon juice can cure kidney stones by forming urinary citrate, which can prevent formation of crystals. Other health benefits of lemon includes treatment of throat infections, indigestion, constipation, dental problems, fever, hair care, skin care, internal bleeding, rheumatism, burns, overweight, respiratory disorders, cholera and high blood pressure. Lemon juice, especially, has several health benefits associated with it. Useful for treating kidney stones, curing heart strokes and reducing the body temperature, lemonade helps you to stay calm and cool. Lemon is rich with many nourishing elements like vitamin C, vitamin B, proteins, carbohydrates and phosporous present in it.

While it is worthy to note there is hope somehow for most of our not-so-able citizens crying out there and in pain trying to figure out solutions or remedies to keep lives longer, and lemon comes as one healthy alternative and a cheaper way to fight off the most commonly sicknesses and hopefully prevent occurrence of this deadly threat to our precious lives.

Prevention is still better than cure. Lemon with its sweet sour tangy taste is natural gift from mother earth which not only livens up our daily food, helps clean and remove stains in our daily chores, but also nourishes and supplies our bodies with its rich antidote substance that keep us strong, vibrant and healthy.

And as the famous saying goes, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”…I guess it’s mighty to say too that A Lemon a day…drive off toxins away!”
