Dark Dreaming

Pay attention to your past

grown up little girl

Listen to your dream world

lest waking life unfurl

Creaky- Weak staircase

rots from disrepair

Don't consider entering

if vulnerable please beware

Dangerous, foreboding storms

flood the child's room

I feel a haunting anger

and see the demons loom

Time to make peace

with issues big and small

Unless you like the pain

and hitting that brick wall

Slimy, stinky earth

hides below your feet

It's no longer stable

You mustn't claim defeat

Listen and act today

or surely things will break

Take heed of the message

and changes it will take

It's time to face the hurts

lying deep within

Not Pushing away the pain

is where you must begin

Hi there hubber friends. Forgive me for being absent. I lost my internet wifi for a few days and wasn't able to get on-line. (My hands shake as I state this hole in my life). I really missed checking in with all of you. Usually I am great at getting back to people. Thanks so much for all your great and supportive comments on my dream poem. Thanks to: A.A.Zavala, Akuigla, Chinemeremz, jillofalltrades, vietnamvet, Doug Turner jr., Scriber1, mentalist acer, eiddwen, LaurieDawn, LuckyCats, Tamarajo, ghomefitness, damian0000, HealingTouch, lifegate, Kashmir56, AlwaysExploring, PennyofHeaven, MickyDee, Pollyannalana, dotty1, deepthought, you suggest one, shygirl2, and CarolinaMuscle. I so appreciate your incredible comments about this poem. This poem is about dreams I still have about my difficult childhood. It's my minds way of dealing with it so I don't become a Complete Lunatic. Most of the metaphors in this poem come from the many dreams I've had about my childhood home. I dream it floods and floats away, it crumbles, There are ghosts, etc... etc...Being a psych major it's quite obvious what the metaphors represent. I think dreams are such a powerful tool of the mind. Thanks again for stopping by everyone:)
