Dealing With Life's Disapointments
Sadness and Disapointment
When life gives you lemons.....you make lemonade!
This week, I was challenged by something unexpected, something very disappointing. Instead of being vindicated, I found myself feeling substandard and basically like a big fat loser.
At first I was extremely upset. I believe the word I used in my text message to my husband was "pissed." Luckily, I was on my way to a lunch date with my best friend and had something else to focus on for a while. When I went home, the realization of my disappointment was overwhelming, however by then I had come to the conclusion that life is too short to worry about trivial things that one cannot control. These things do not define me as an individual, rather these challenges make me stronger and become parts of who I am and how I have progressed as a person.
Focusing on who I am, what I have accomplished, all the wonderful things and people in my life have made me feel better, stronger. I have my health, I have my family and friends, I have a job that I enjoy and I work with some awesome people. I am making a difference in people's lives and that's what really matters. I also revert back to my spirituality and think that this is where God has put me at this point in my life and that everything happens for a reason,
So anytime you feel down, remember that where one door closes, another opens. These are the things that make us who we are and these challenges only make us stronger.
Have a great week!
