Making Up Your Mind

So, you've been to the doctor, you've looked in the mirror or someone said something to you that finally landed. Whatever the motivation, you've decided to take the plunge into the weight loss pool. For years I dangled my toes in the pool and it felt great, but it never lasted because I never really took the plunge. When it comes to weight loss, you have to be all in. Dangling ones toes will just not work. A number of people have come up to me in the last couple of months and asked me if I'm on a diet. I look them in the eye, square my jaw and say "NO!"

Are you confused? Good! Let me disabuse everyone of the notion that "dieting" works. IT DOES NOT WORK! I tell people that I have revamped my lifestyle to be more healthy and changed my relationship with food to be more healthy. That's what needs to happen. Low carb? Okay. High protein? Okay. No sugar? Okay. Low fat? Okay. These are all good things, but are they sustainable?
