Does P90X Work?

Updated on July 6, 2009

Yes, P90X does work but unlike any other home fitness program, it might NOT be suitable for the average Joe.

Unless you are medically fit and have a certain level of fitness, P90X is NOT an easy piece of workout. P90X program can be intense and grueling.

The Power 90 Extreme (P90X) requires you to have a certain level of fitness if you decide to follow its extreme workout plan which would typically range from 60 to 90 minutes for 6 days a week.

Those who are new to fitness and not used to extreme workout schedules should instead try out the P90 which is a lighter version and a precursor to the extreme P90X version.

Once your fitness level is a notch above your normal level, you can then gradually move on the extreme version of the routine.

What is P90X?

P90X is a revolutionary system of 12 sweat-inducing, muscle-pumping workouts, designed to transform your body into shape in just 90 days.

The secret behind the P90X system is an advanced training technique called "Muscle Confusion, " which accelerates results by constantly introducing new moves and routines so your body never reach a plateau, and you never get bored!

P90X is a truly versatile workout program for both men and women. It teaches how men can use higher weights and lower repetition on certain exercises to obtain incredible muscle bulk, while women can use lower weights and higher repetition to obtain sleek toned muscle.

But does P90X work in 90 days?

If you are looking for a miracle diet, or a "10 minute workout" to get you in shape, this is NOT it.

P90X workout plan will only work if you're willing to commit a good amount of workout time AND follow the program to a T.

Should you decide to perform part of the workout routines you're most comfortable with, you won't be able to get the optimal result out of P90X.

Apart from following the extreme workout schedules, you would also be required to stick to the stringent nutrition and strict diet plans that is part of the P90X program.

As long as you're willing to invest a serious amount of time and be fully dedicated to its workout and nutrition plans, P90X does work - probably.

However, as with any fitness program, it can be challenging and tough but it's all worth it at the end of the day.
