All types of stress can cause physical, psychological and emotional strain. Stress can trigger the fight-or-flight response. Certain hormones are released, like adrenalin and cortisol, which speed the heart rate, slow digestion, shunt the blood flow to major muscle groups and changes various other nervous functions, which gives the body a burst of strength and energy. If you have chronic stress, it can cause damage to your body.

Chronic stress causes the nervous system to go into overdrive and you soon notice physical symptoms. Headaches and colds seem to be the first indication that something needs to be changed. It the stress is not controlled, it may cause more serious health problems. Here are a few things that chronic stress can cause:

  • ulcers
  • depression
  • obesity - emotional eating
  • hair loss
  • sexual dysfunction
  • heart disease
  • diabetes
  • gum and tooth disease
  • high blood pressure
  • insomnia
  • memory lapses

Energy Healing

There are several energy therapies that promote health and healing. You have no doubt heard of people who have cured themselves or been healed through the use of one or more of these ways:

  • Reiki ( A Japanese practice)
  • hot stone therapy (Native Indian)
  • Qigong (Chinese)
  • aura balancing
  • crystal healing
  • faith healing
  • EFT (emotional freedom technique)
  • magnetic therapy
  • hypnosis
  • acupuncture
  • healing or therapeutic touch
  • positive affirmations

There are many more - this is just a sampling

Since we are all unique, we may react positively to one therapy rather than another. It is adviseable to find the energy healing technique that helps you release your stress the most.

Thoughts to control stress (Choose which one fits you best)

You are a spiritual being in a human body. You are made of energy (frequency). Be true to yourself and don't concern yourself with what others think of you. You are here to fulfill your own destiny.

Enjoy nature, observe it, discover it, admire its beauty, and appreciate the smallest things. Surrounded yourself with the elements. Water - river, Fire - sun, Earth- ground, and Air - Sky.

Believe. Know God, truth lives in you. God is our teacher. Christ offers us all an ever lasting eternity. It is up to your choices... Heaven/, dark/light , right/wrong. Look around and you will see billions of seeds to feed you, billions of galaxies and stars, DNA, and life that God created. Know your God and that He lives. Open your eyes, your heart and your spirit to His ways and wisdom.

Nice job. But sometimes your too stressed to think bout destressing so it take a lot of will power to just sit yourself down and relax.

Actually have tried Reiki when I was in Nursing school and we were in an alternative health class. It was actually pretty nice. I felt relaxed after the practitioner was done. Very cool.

great read. Always good to get tips on handling stress. I recently started working for a company coming out with an anti-energy drink and its got Kava in it! Kava is as a relaxant but also known to taste like crap hahaha. This company is turning it into something tasty and useful :). Might help with my stress a little :)
