The Immune System

Your immune system is basically your body’s own defense against foreign substances which are not in a natural balance with the workings of your body. These substances may present themselves in the form of what many may call virus. This small infectious agent basically replicates in the living cell of any organism. Viruses will infect humans, plants and animals. Viruses basically break down you natural cells and then leaves you prone to diseases. One basic confusion that many people have is to believe that having a virus and bacteria is the same thing. That is a very wrong assumption. Viruses are normally fought by using antiviral medications. But many viruses are strong and will not easily be defeated by simply taking antiviral drugs. You must ensure that your own body is always in a fit and healthy state to fight viruses, especially the ones that cause the flu which can lead to respiratory ailments. This means your immune system must be up at all times to combat viruses. Here are some of the best ways to build your immunity against flu and other virus.

1. Increase Your Vitamin C Intake

Vitamin C is needed by your body. Nature demands it. Take a look around at all the fruit trees given to us by God. What is the one most common vitamin produced by most of these fruit trees? That’s right, Vitamin C. So what is so special about Vitamin C? Well, this vitamin acts as an antioxidant which helps to protect your body’s cells from damaged caused by viruses. Vitamin C is also needed to create a substance called collagen, a protein your body requires to help heal wounds. If you have low vitamin C in your body, your immunity will be low and you will become much more susceptible to diseases and respiratory infections like the flu or even more deadly virus like Covid-19 Corona Virus. The Foods listed below are high in Vitamin C.

  • Pomegranate
  • Guava
  • Kiwi
  • Bell Pepper
  • Oranges
  • Strawberries
  • Papaya
  • Grapefruits
  • Tomato
  • Broccoli
  • Kale
  • Mangoes
  • Sour-sop
  • Pineapple
  • Watermelon
  • Cranberry
  • Raspberry

2. Stay Away From Chemicals Which Breaks Down Your Immunity

The world is filled with toxic substances. Most are found in production plants and in our very own homes. These toxic substances come in the form of household chemicals to even the very cologne which your wear. Having toxic chemicals around and using them repeatedly is what causes millions of people to become sick yearly. And guess what, most of these chemicals are sprayed and particles become air born which we eventually inhale and that chemical gets lodged into our bloodstream causing a variety of illnesses. These illness ranges from mild to severe and sometimes even death. Some of the things we possess in our homes which we use for cleaning, killing bugs or even for smelling good contains some very toxic chemicals which should never be letting loose in the air. These chemicals may not harm you on a one time use, but continuous use will bring sickness to you making you wonder how you contracted the disease. These chemicals slowly eat away at your immune system and leaving your body with a weak defense against foreign agents. This allows you to be at a greater risk of contracting flu virus. Stop using toxic chemicals and use earth friendly natural agents.

3. Quit Smoking And Drinking

I can’t emphasis how much you are slowly committing suicide by doing these two life hating activities. In my opinion, people who smoke simply hates themselves and have no wish on living a long healthy life. Smoking is basically loading toxic substances in your body voluntarily. When you intake smoke, it goes to the lungs and latches itself to that breathing apparatus and begins slowly eating away at your breathing organ. If you have a bad lungs, when you catch a deadly flu, chances are it may end up becoming a fatal illness for you. It is a known fact that smoking increases heart rate, tightens major arteries, and can cause an irregular heart rhythm, all of which make your heart work harder. Smoking also raises blood pressure, which increases the risk of stroke. This increases the risk of a blood clot that can lead to a heart attack or stroke. There is no doubt that smoking literally smothers your immunity and damages much more than many doctors can repair.

Drinking too much alcohol has cinema what that does. Apart from drunk drivers mowing down innocent people daily as they go about their businesses. Continuous alcohol consumption increases your risk for chronic liver inflammation and liver disease. The scarring caused by this inflammation is known as cirrhosis. When the liver becomes increasingly damaged, it has a harder time removing toxic substances from your body. Having toxic substances having a party day after day in your body will definitely see you visiting the hospital like how you visit the bathroom.

4. Exercise To Keep Organs Healthy

Walk, run, jump, ride, skip, hop, and crawl. Whatever you do to keep your body mobile do it. Do it consistently. Before what we call modernization, our forefathers never needed fancy exercise machines and fitness trainers and low fat meals. They did chores, farming, fished and walk many miles as a way of life. They kept fit and healthy by their natural activities and the food they ate. Fast-forward today people are too consumed with their likes on social media to do any form of exercise. They hop in their cars to drive to a store located around the block. They work two sometimes three jobs and have no time for health. But all this faced paced life is leading us to a faced paced grave. Exercise keeps your body fit, healthy and alert. Can you imagine a fit body packed with great immunity? This will give you a much better chance of demolishing virus infections like the Corona Virus.

5. Consume more Fruits and Vegetables And Eat Less or No Meat

Stop filling your body with that delicious pork chops or that juicy fried chicken. Yeah, I know the feeling. Giving up succulent meat for broccoli is a difficult decision. For some people that is considered even absurd. But guess what, your body works best with the consumption of fruits and vegetables than meat and extremely starchy foods. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables has these special benefits.

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Healthier heart. Reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Prevent some types of cancer
  • Lower risk digestive problems
  • Healthier Blood Sugar Level

Eating too much meat, especially red meat may lead to the following conditions:

  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Heart Diseases
  • Some cancers (Processed meats like bacon, sausages, etc)

Immunity Importance

We were meant for our bodies to heal themselves and fight it's own infections. What we consume and the things we do dictate how how bodies work. Lets live longer and healthier by helping our bodies to be naturally alkaline and block or destroy these viruses when they attack. Remember your Vitamin C. Quit bad habits like smoking and drinking. And have a much healthier and balanced diet.
