Foods to boost your immunity

Eating healthy food is always recommended instead of junk food and people create their own version of healthy food. But do you think, not eating junk food is sufficient enough to meet the body needs? Actually, your body requires different nutrients for different needs. For healthy bones, you need calcium; for glowing skin, you must take antioxidants and drink plenty of water. Similarly, to help you fight infections, your body must have a great immunity system. There are foods that can help to develop better immunity power and helps in fighting infections.

Foods to boost your immunity

Below are some of the foods to boost your immunity:

Antioxidants - Maintaining a good supply of antioxidants is one of the most important things to maintain good immunity. The important antioxidants are vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene and zinc. These can be found in guavas, oranges, mangoes, broccoli, peanuts and olive oil. Beta carotenes can be found in yellow-orange vegetables and fruits and dark green leafy vegetables. Zinc can be found in oysters, chicken, yoghurt, cheese, milk, almonds and cashew nuts.

Proteins - Proteins are known as the building blocks of all cells and thus helps to build better immune system. Eat fish, seafood, egg whites, lentils, and beans to get the proper supply of proteins and remember to cut saturated fats.

Green Tea - Green Tea is also rich in antioxidants; so go for a cup of green tea to have better immunity.

Yoghurt - Yoghurt helps to stimulate the immune cells, so include a bowl of yoghurt along with regular food.

Garlic - Garlic is always known as a remedy for many diseases and works effectively as an immune booster.

Spices - Yes, you read it right - 'Spices'; there are many spices that can work wonders to boost your immunity. Ginger, turmeric, chilies and cinnamon not only adds extra taste to your food but also fights infections.

The above foods are required not only to boost your immunity but also make a healthy diet. As you know green vegetables, yellow-orange vegetables and fruits are always recommended by doctors and health practitioners for keeping your body fit; they are also a rich source of antioxidants and several important vitamins.
