Get Good Night Sleep by Using the Sleep Masks

Updated on October 24, 2016

Sleeplessness is one of the worst conditions that is also a reason behind causing various illnesses. I am one of the unfortunate victims of insomnia and crave for restful sleep. I wish, I were as lucky as any of you out there, who finds no trouble sleeping.

Do you find it difficult to sleep at most of the instances?
Do you find it difficult to sleep at most of the instances?

There are several reasons that may cause insomnia:

  • Stressful conditions like anxiety, worries, relationship and family issues are known to cause sleeplessness. When human brain is in stress, the process of thinking gets intense. It activates the wake cycle of the human brain and reduces drive for sleep.
  • Even nasal blocks or sinus allergies are responsible for causing insomnia.
  • Depression
  • Illnesses like thyroid, arthritis, asthma and gastrointestinal problems
  • Over addiction to smartphones, the internet, and computers
  • Lack of sports
  • Inappropriate nutrition
  • Caffeine and alcohol addiction
  • Work shifts
  • Genes
  • Environmnetal noise
  • Migraine

Though, a lot of the above conditions needs an internal treatment for overcoming the disease and will automatically treat sleep issues. Still, during the period when a person suffers from the problem, it becomes apparent for them to look for some other options for getting a good night's sleep.

Surveys have proven that today's lifestyle is full of stressful challenges and almost out of every 100 American adults, 64 Americans struggle every day to get proper sleep.

Sleep masks are excellent accessories that help the users to get good sleep by giving an illusion of darkness. It offers soothing effect to the wearer and assists the brain in generating melatonin responsible for making a person get a sleep he/she had been craving since long.

Also, darkness is one of the known factors that initiates the sleep drive from within and allows the brain to convert serotonin into melatonin and conveys a message to the body that it's sleeping time now.

Do you often find it difficult to get proper sleep? If yes, a sleep mask can serve your purpose well. An ear plug, if combined with the sleep mask can do a better job as ear plug will restrict the external noise from entering the ears and helps the body to get relaxed and falls asleep quickly.

There are various brands of sleep masks available on the market. Anybody who feels that a good sleep mask can help them overcome the problem, they can pick any of these products from the market from the available range.

Though eye masks are a good alternative, I would suggest buying one combined with a foam earphone. There are several reasons to use these covers with an earphone.

A few of the benefits of both these commodities are:

Benefits of eye masks:

Avoid brightness when sleeping – The sleep masks are used for a complete blackout by preventing brightness during sleep. It is perfect for all those people who gets easily disturbed with even a meek ray of light. In fact, these black masks are not only used for brightness but also offer protection to eyes when a person is asleep.

People with migraine find it beneficial – Especially individuals who have a migraine can derive benefit from its use. It offers rest to eyes and contributes in the relaxation of the brain. Hence, offers better sleeping experience.

Benefits of using foam ear plugs:

Obstruct unnecessary noise from entering the ears – It restricts the unnecessary sound from entering the ears and in this way a person who wants to sleep does not get disturbed unnecessarily. It allows a person to concentrate entirely on sleeping.

Lightweight – These are light in weight and small. Hence, very easy to carry and manage.

Comfortable to use – These are very soft on ears and comfortable to use. It fits on the ears properly and blocks the ear walls properly.

By combining both of these items, you can enjoy a great sleep and look ahead for a great start of the new day.
