God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

Updated on January 20, 2012

Have you ever notice with yourself or anyone for that matter, when we are in trouble, who do we turn to first? Myself, I admittedly turn to God for his help.

Why do we ask God automatically when we need help? "Oh God please help me" we would shout out. So many people really don't believe in God, but when their in a fix of some sort, they all of a sudden ask him for his help, which is fine, but you really need to believe in God all the time, not just when you are in desperate need of him.

It is amazing that the people that don't believe in God, he still will never let you down and he will still stand by your side and continue to love you and help you no matter what.you have done or who you are. Everyone one earth is treated equally the same.

What we all need to do is to start to love one another like we are supposed to be doing and get rid of all the hatred that many of us have bottled up inside of us and just maybe the world will be a much better place for everyone.

He is always there by our side whether you know it or not. He walks beside all of us. All he expects from us is to believe in him, and love him, the way he loves all of us. It is really not too much to ask considering what he has done for all mankind.

We must always remember that God helps those who help themselves.

This oil spill disaster clean up will take years to get our earth and lives back on track. The video is a very heart wrenching thing to watch with all the wild life that has been lost and all of the lives and businesses that have lost everything.

The oil disaster was caused only by mankind and his equipment, but isn't ironic that the Bible states the same scenario in its readings.

The video below is amazing, that one person, one spirit, has created all of this that we now enjoy. Awesome God is not enough praise for our God. There really isn't anything good enough to say that would warrant his works, accept to thank him on a daily basis for all he has given us, including our lives.

This is why we need to always keep him in our hearts no matter where we are or where we go. He has created us and loves us equally the same.

The bottom line here is, just try to help yourself and others and God will be backing you up all the way. He will not let us down, but you must believe and you will then achieve.

@Vocalcoach, Thanks you for your comment and I have really learned so much in life since I have given up drinking alcohol. God was such a huge part of my recovery process and gave me the strenght to be able to quit this addiction

Beautiful hub! Gratitude is way of thanking God for all that He has blessed us with. Thanking Him each and everyday is also a way of reminding ourselves of how much He has given us. And yes - we must take responsibility and do all that we can to help ourselves, asking God to guide us. Thank you so much for this wonderful lesson. Blessings to you.

I had an awesome experience with Jesus many years ago nad he just told me that Everything Is Going To Be OK. I believe him. God is just the energy in and of everything--living and dead. Sometimes it looks as if helping yourself is selfish in not going to God, BUT maybe he is helping you--helping you find a way out of whatever you need help with. He will call others out to you if you go to others too. He works with everyone and everything. It's kind of like the Law of Attraction. Be careful what you ask for because you will get that--just what you ask for and nothing more or less. Be careful with your thoughts--Jesus said that to us.

      the clean life,

Excellent hub! "God helps those who help themselves", it's an old apothegm. During my childhood, I always used to hear this apothegm from my elders. Today, I learned more about it. I liked how you connected this with "Oil Spill." That's an amazing explanation. It's great to know your spiritual thoughts. Good work!

You are so right maheshpatwal, Some just look to God when they are in dire need and forget all the right of the times.

I have also experienced one thing that whenever everything is going great we tend to forget to GOD, however when things start going from good to bad we go to his doorstep.... thanks for sharing your thoughts

Isn't it true that we need to keep God in our minds whether things are good or bad? And, yes, if we just stop hating each other, things would be so much better in the world. We have to stop hating ourselves first, though, and that can be a Project. Your hubs are inspirational. Thank you.
