Light Particles

Everything and everyone is made up of atomic particles that dance around nuclei and spin and turn and create vibrations depending on the speed at which these particles travel. This is the physical anatomy of sentient beings and also the atomic structure of all other matter. We are all vibrating, constantly changing molecular collections of subatomic particles. Even rocks vibrate, just much slower than living beings. All matter has its own molecular structure, and all of it is based on its ability to transmit or absorb light, or electromagnetic radiation. Simply put, light is energy, and energy comes in packets described as waves that have amplitude, wavelength and frequency. It is the quality of these waves in our body systems that affect our overall health.

Energy healing works with these basic qualities of life to alter the wavelengths in our body systems to function at their optimal levels.  When we recognize we are all beings of light and our life force radiates light, our auras, then we can begin to integrate healing systems that use our energy source as a way to promote well being. Healing Touch uses these principles, as does Sound Healing, Reiki, and others.

Our Chakras

Every moment of our lives we are being bombarded with waves of energy – light waves, sound waves, microwaves, all electromagnetic in nature. Our energy levels are determined by how well we manage all these incoming energy sources. One could say when we are suffering from any illness, like the common cold, our energy centers are not handling these vibrations well enough to stop our cells from succumbing to a weakened state. Of course there are biological reasons our cells fail or become weakened, but attention to both systems gives us a better chance to live healthier, happier lives.

Healing touch works with our chakras, or wheels of light, that are found in our subtle bodies and are the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies. There are seven main vortices that are represented by the seven colors of the rainbow and relate to our various levels of consciousness and organic systems.

From the top of our heads to the base of our spines these energy centers may be open or closed, so it is the goal of Healing Touch to open these centers to allow life-force energy, or qi, to flow smoothly. This is achieved by various movements and gentle touching of the patient along these energy lines. It is an energy exchange. Oftentimes a healing touch practitioner will also use some sound device, like a Tibetan Bowl or tuning fork or the voice itself, to gently alter the vibrational rate of the patient. By focusing on these chakras, the practitioner can increase the flow and decrease painful blockages.

The Chakras from top to bottom are:

The Crown Chakra – the pituitary gland - pure consciousness, violet.

The Brow Chakra – the pineal gland – the third eye, deep blue or indigo.

The Throat Chakra – the thyroid gland – communication, pale blue or turqoise.

The Heart Chakra – the thymus gland – unconditional love, green.

The Solar Plexus Chakra – the Islets of Langerhans or pancreas – digestive system and creativity, yellow.

The Sacral Chakra – sacrum – sex hormones and reproductive cycle, orange.

The Base Chakra – root chakra – instinct, security and survival, red.
