Healing: A Matter of Choice

Thanks to photoshop I was able to tailor-fit this wallpaper showing me as the child held tenderly by Jesus. I used this photo to aid me in my healing

Healing the self in the realm of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions starts with one decision --- choosing to heal. This is what I learned in my journey to healing.

I never thought the process needed to start from within me. It all began when I acknowledged and accepted the fact that I was "sick". I was troubled by the sexual abuses done to me as a child, teenager and adult. It was this particular "sickness" that contributed to my emotional instabilty, my functioning in a victim mindset, my migraines, insomnia, addiction to caffaine and nicotine. With the help of my Catholic renewal community I was able make the conscious decision to want to heal.

The moment I decided on the matter, my relationship with the Father in heaven dramatically changed for the better. My emotional growth took on a rapid forward movement. My negative thoughts decreased as postive mindsets increased. My physical condition improved.

How? Opportunities came into my life which allowed me to understand the power which God has given us to heal ourselves. Our mind has the power to initiate this healing process. Our spirit helps us believe this truth. Our hearts become open to infinite possibilities. Our bodies are designed to respond to these truths and heal itself. Choose to heal, know you deserve the healing, believe you are health manifest, and it shall be so.

Believe and receive.

You transcended your suffering and now aid in healing others through your sharing and presence. I like your words, as there is truth in them:

"Our spirit helps us believe this truth. Our hearts become open to infinite possibilities. Our bodies are designed to respond to these truths and heal itself. Choose to heal, know you deserve the healing, believe you are health manifest, and it shall be so."

Have a Merry Christmas filled with perfect wholeness and love.

Great piece! We are beginning a program called Celebrate Recovery and in it you have to admit that there is something in your life you need to recover from. You have to see the "sickness" before you can begin to heal.

This is perfect timing for me.

Daisy, you were such an adorable little one! Just beautiful! And you still are.

It was brave of you to give public voice to your abuses. I think that it probably means that they don't have the hold on you that they once did. You made the choice to heal and so released them. I'm in awe of you accomplishing that.

Thank-you for sharing and for reminding us that it is our choice and responsibility to heal ourselves.

      Much Love & Light

      Shirley

Fabulous hub - short, sweet and to the point! You are so very accurate about the power to heal lies within ourselves.

People often get caught up in thinking they don't deserve healing or it can't happen for them. A person really can heal from so many things.

We cannot always control what comes our way in life. What we can control is our response to the incident. Choosing to heal is the best journey anyone can make as the journey is also its own reward!

God gave us so much in this life and among them is the free will to choose for ourselves. I've certainly healed from many things that I was told is rare. Well, when you ally your heart, spirit and mind with God's then all things really are possible.

The way to get there once you make the decision as you talk about here? Practice. Practice. Practice. Too often people want the overnight healing. Sometimes it comes quickly and other times it can take years. Who cares as long as we heal!

Your hub was a great idea to help others realize something better really is possible AND available to them.

      dayzeebee. Thanks for the hub.

Coming forth to confess that you have been abused as a child is a first step to healing. Unless you confess, no one knows the truth and cannot help. When you are sick and go to the doctor, the doctor will ask you what's the matter. If you say, "I have a headache." The doctor will not prescribe something to cure your stomache.

It is good that you have overcome your problem and are successful in your career. God bless. Prayer works wonders. Please read hub:

We can rely on prayer to help us. Praise God.

Daizybee you're so right. When there is a will there is a way. I've discovered the power of first admitting that there is a problem and then making an effort to irradicate it.

Sometimes it is crazy. But I realized that the one person who gets the "worst" treatment is ourselves. Choosing to love the self is indeed the first step to healing. Thank you for this insightful piece. I love the video too.
