What is Astrology?

Astrology is defined as the study of the movement of the stars and other celestial bodies, and how that movement affects humanity as a whole. While many people may be skeptical, astrology has had a powerful influence on our lives. Many people rely on the stars to identify their true loves, tell their futures, or chart the course of their life. Many shows have featured astrology, such as the anime, Fairy tail. Even Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States, had consulted an astrologer concerning the scheduling of his meetings.

But why? Why does astrology have such a huge impact on us?

Astrology has a rich history dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE. Many court officials have used astrology to help and provide comfort to their leaders. A village have a wise woman that have told fortunes and healed diseases based on the stars alone. And even now, astrology still contains many benefits, primarily acting as a belief system that provides answers as to why strange events happen.

Do You Believe It?

In an article written by Dr. Ben Hayden, there is some evidence that a schizotypal personality is correlated with the month of your birth. In the same article, a Japanese study found that the month you're born also tends to have different personality traits. Even without science, astrology has never been dismissed simply because of the anecdotal evidence presented. It has an incredibly rich history, a lot of which people have testified for astrology.

However, there is a lot of skepticism. Again, there hasn't been a lot of scientific evidence that definitively proves astrology can predict personality traits. There are also many horoscopes that tend to, more often than not, try to predict every detail of your day. Then of course, there are the leeches who try to take advantage of your star sign, just to make a quick profit.

But of course, it all depends on you. People have been known to use astrology, simply because it gives them something to believe in. And while there have been some studies done on astrology, a healthy amount of skepticism still exists. For me, personally, I tend to believe my star sign.

Whether or not you choose to believe it however, depends on you.
