I have felt the same as you and during my journey have picked up many tricks to achieve my weight loss goal. I am not there yet, however I have gone farther then I ever have in the past. I have reached many short term goals and I know that I am on my way to finally losing the unwanted weight that I have carried around for years.

Make this your year to finally get the body you have dreamed of. It really is possible and you can do it. It will be hard and frustrating at times, but if you do not give up, you will get to that finish line. In this Hub I will share with you some great strategies that will help you and also how to get started in your own weight loss journey. Please join me and let's get healthy together!

Sometimes it hard to know were to start.

How To Start The Journey

When wanting to lose weight you need to have a plan. Planning ahead will get you through the hard times and keep you motivated.

Think about why you really want to lose weight. Having a reason to motivate you is key. It could be for health reasons or to just have more energy. It may be that you have a big event in the next year that you want to look great for. What ever your reason is, find it and then write it down. Place it in your house were you will see it daily. This will help you remember why it is that you want to lose weight and keep you motivated.

Set some realistic goals. While setting a long term goal think about how much you weigh right now and how much you want to weigh. If you lost 10 pounds a month at the most how much time would it take you to reach that goal weight. When you have thought of what month you should be at your goal weight, write it down on the calender. Make new goals daily and weekly. Daily goals could be that you want to eat properly or just get off the couch and get active. Weekly goals could be to lose 1 to 5 pounds. A healthy weight loss is losing 1 to 2 pounds a week so 5 pounds might not be attainable. Write down your goals and look at the often to keep you motivated.

Find someone to be accountable to. Tell the people in your life that you are going to lose weight this year and start a healthy lifestyle. Ask them if they can be supportive of you. If you and your family members are all over weight maybe they could join you in this journey and you could all be accountable to each other. There may not be anyone in your life that you want to be accountable to and that's alright. Just be accountable to yourself. There are also many forums and active communities that can help you online.

Realize what your strengths and weakness are. Think back to the times that you have failed in the past. What happened? What made you give up? Even during the next couple days be aware of times that you might over eat and what caused you to over eat. What were you feeling at the time? Get real with your self and find a way to avoid the similar situation.

Find an exercise program that you will like doing.  There are so many programs available these days.  You can get equipment for your house.  Programs that come on DVD.  You could increase the amount of steps you take in a day or even just get outside and play with the kids. Whatever it is you chose make sure it is something that can fit into your schedule and life.

Make a blog. Start making a personal blog to express yourself and talk about your journey. Talk about your plans and goals. Share what program you are going to follow. I have made a personal blog and it is one of my motivations. I want to make sure that I reach my goals seeing people from all over the world can have access to viewing it. You are welcome to view my blog at anytime.
