Being too acidic causes low energy, fatigue, a tendency to be overweight, bad digestion, aches and pains, with even more serious ailments.

Too Much Acid

Having too much acid in your system can be very unhealthy. Do you have too much acid? Have you ever checked to see?

Chances are you are acidic.

If you are forcing your body to work without its best inner condition you are making a breeding ground for so many chronic illnesses that come upon more than half the population. Meaning you have better than a 50% chance to be affected!

It is really astounding to think about. Will the lack of knowledge be our downfall?

Could one change in our life make that world of difference we thought could never be?

Basically the normal western diet is acid-producing and when acidic wastes build up it can cause organs to malfunction and break down!

Being Alkaline is Critical

A marginally alkaline body is critical for good well being. No matter how much you exercise and try to eat right, if you cannot balance the acids in your body, you are never going to feel as good as you would like to without the right alkaline balance. You are what you eat could never be better used than here. (I touched on this in another article for further information find link below.)

Often feeling tired is a sign you are overly acidic; and it is a fact that most people are. There is a solution and that is following an alkaline diet and having an alkaline body. Drinking alkaline water is an easy fast way to jump start a new healthy life!

Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular drinking water, therefore some advocates of alkaline water believe it can neutralize the acid in your body. Normal drinking water basically has a neutral pH of 7, with Alkaline water a pH of 8 or 9.

Water Ionizer

A water ionizer (or an alkaline ionizer) is a home appliance that raises the pH of drinking water by using electrolysis to separate the incoming water stream into acidic and alkaline components.

It is recommended to not buy an alkaline water ionizer from China, Taiwan or Malaysia. The bulk of alkaline water ionizers are not legally supposed to sell in some states for lacking proper "Lead-Free Certification." These can be quite pricey or you can buy pitchers from around $50 dollars to counter-top faucets at around $200 that claim to ionize with filters; without electricity. There are larger ones that go up near $1000; probably even higher if that is what you are looking for!.

Some water ionizers attach to your faucet and easy to use. The water becomes electrically ionized because the ionizer runs it over positive and negative electrodes. This separates the water into alkalized water and acidic water.

The alkalized water creates up about 70% of the produced water and is to be used for drinking.

Purchase an ionizer or a smaller version. Less expensive and does the same job no doubt for a shorter time, but still just as effective, providing you with the same quality.

Ionize Drops

Alkaline water can easily be made with the ionize drops that usually are one drop to an ounce of water. I found about an ounce and one half of these for about $5; so doing the math it is not as good a deal than another way to alkaline, or two!

Alkipure is a Portable Alkaline Water Ionizer and is about $30 and makes about 200 gallons of water estimated to last six months. Sounds really good to me, of all I looked into. That is $5 a month. Any of the drops I checked out seem quite expensive. Now I use lemon in distilled water and I see no reason that could not be used along with the ionizer or completely alone according to all the information out there I have seen so far.

Baking soda is another home way of ionizing your water but the salt content would be so high I could never recommend it. Although I have met many online who swear by it! I cannot imagine a very large percent out there who do not have some risk with salt intake. Especially the older and heavier we get.

I did find information that although it is bitter and one might think acid and that is vinegar! Vinegar is a good way to get alkaline also and I love that because I have apple cider every day with vinegar for my health. You cannot taste the vinegar in the cider so it is a great way to get it if you like to have vinegar without the sour face! Easier on your stomach and tooth enamel also, being mixed!

A Lemon Anyone?

If all of the above seems too complicated then simply peel a lemon a day and slice it up! It is that easy.

When I first started on the lemon a day I followed directions to slice the whole lemon with peeling and let it stay overnight in a jug or jar of water at room temperature. You are tougher than me if you can take that! It was awful and all I could taste were the peels.

So using logic I peel my lemons and sliced to add to water or simply squeezed fresh lemon in my water. Possibly the lemon penetrating the water for a time period better ionizes it so I do that as a rule, although I have not read that to be a fact. As of now though I really love my lemon water; much easier to drink than plain.

I do know the peels are nutritious, beneficial to our health and I will use those in blender made drinks with added ingredients.

I do believe an alkaline body is better than acid and I do believe I am seeing a difference in the little time I have used lemon and vinegar. Digestion and energy for certain and quite possibly a decrease in nerve pain in my hands and arms. I did have surgery for that and it did help but was still quite a bit of bother off and on until I started the alkaline regimen. So I do attribute it to that especially now I have read that is one of the added benefits!

Glass mason jar. I prefer using glass over plastic; don't you? So if I didn't have a glass container available I would simply use a glass jar. Oh; and it doesn't have to be mason!

Lemon peels, frozen or boiled are a great way to add to our diets and super nutritious.

Alkaline Teas

Alkaline Tea

What a quick and enjoyable way to get an alkaline body. I add other teas in my alkaline tea that I enjoy and make me look forward to the drink. I usually have two cups from this since there are two bags of tea making it stronger. I seep a couple of minutes then lift the bags to a clean cup to use later.

In Conclusion

Buy some strips to test your pH; they are really inexpensive! You won't know how much you improve if you don't have the beginning numbers. (Less than 7 is acid.) All my studies claimed it is absolutely mandatory to have a proper pH balance in order to maintain optimal health. Nearly all claim an alkaline body will not produce cancer. That alone is reason enough to try this.

I have written about and recommend an alkaline diet but how easy it is to become alkaline through water (or teas) and could it be our fountain of youth? Some make that claim. It is worth trying, I think!

Next there are the drops that I consider pretty expensive in the search I did at all the least expensive places. If this is something you are more apt to do to receive an alkaline body then that is what you should do. Giving up one or two unhealthy treats a weeks would probably cover the cost and be an added benefit to boot.

The teas are very affordable and although you may have to order online it is an easy thing to do and convenient.

Finally there is lemon, which nearly anyone can afford and remember to do daily. Add it to water the night before or just squeeze fresh lemon in your bottles or glasses of water as you use them. So when life gives you lemons, make sugar-free lemonade (or just lemon water) and live a longer, healthier life!
