I use basis face wash twice a day for my face. Since my acne is almost completely gone, it cleanses without drying out my skin. I also have acne on my back, and for that I use Clean & Clear's 3 step acne treatment. If I have a breakout on my face I'll use it there as well.

If you are using Cetaphil, use the one which is for Acne prone skin. Don't use a soap just the face wash. Neutrogena Acne free face wash is also a good product. Make sure you don't have dandruff in your hairs, wash hair with an anti-dandruff shampoo avoiding it on your face. You said it is a black patch, so go see a good doctor too because it may be possible it is not Acne.

The tips mentioned are good for people who have mild acne which gets removed by simply following these tips and taking good care of your skin, so that it doesn't return again. For severe persistent acne one should see a doctor as you might need oral medication too.
