How We Associate Alcohol With Everything

Updated on November 19, 2013

Well everyone, I'm sitting here in ninety plus degrees of heat wondering what could I write about on this hot and humid day. What I came up with was "how we associate everything with alcohol.

On days like this, back in my drinking days, a cold beer would have hit the spot, but being clean and sober now, that is not possible. Besides, when I say "a" cold beer, that would of never happened, I would have drank till it was time to go to sleep.

Anyway, have you ever wondered, why is it that everything most of us do in life revolves around the almighty drink?

If we go to a Baseball game we drink. If we decide to have a cookout we need to have the beer by our side while cooking on the grill. It seems like everything goes so well with alcohol. The two are a perfect couple. Alcohol always seems to tag along with us where ever we go.

If we go to any kind of sports games, some of us rent a party bus to get there. Why is that, it's because we want to drink, but the party bus is a great idea I must say. We don't have to worry about "drinking and driving". Very wise to do that.

So, once we get to the ball park, we then set up for the "tailgate party". Everyone loves the tailgating before a game, and I know that those people all have a great time. Besides the alcoholic beverages, there is some awesome food to eat there too. People really go all out when setting up for their tailgate party.

So, when we get on that party bus the drinking starts. It is somewhat like an appetizer before the real fun comes. Then we get to ball park and start to eat and drink more at the tailgate party.

Then it's time for the gates to open. Then we can drink even more, "for a lot more money though". Sometimes we are smashed before the gates even open up to the park, or before the first ball is thrown.

Are we really interested in the game itself, that we are about to watch, or is it just an accuse to drink alcohol? I truly don't think many of the people really care for the game at all, they are more concerned about parting away like there is no tomorrow and using the game or any other activity for the accuse to drink. Just my point of view.

There are a lot more things that we can contribute to tailgating and drinking such as, going to a huge outdoor concerts, heading to the drag strip for some awesome racing or any motor sports function.

Lets not forget about the people that go fishing. They need to have that cooler on hand, not for the fish they are going to catch, but to keep their beer ice cold and on hand at all times.

Well this is how our world is now and I don't think it will ever change, so we must just go with the flow as they say.

If your are going to drink, just keep in mind that you can have some great fun at these functions, but, just be safe and try to make the right decisions, so that you or someone else doesn't get hurt or that fun time in the park might be the last.

Enjoy and But Be Safe!
