Updated on April 6, 2011

Stay positive in losing weight

Being negative is a natural thing of every person who try to lose weight but it can leads to an extreme obstacle of your approaches. Pessimism is a part of your thinking and it can make things uncomfortable or frightening. If you talk to yourself "Oh I can't do this, I can't do that" or "That is not me if I do that," you'll end up not taking any actions and your weight loss dream will be ruined.

A lot of people who want to lose weight think that their past experiment was a failure, thus they keep doing things they like without even bother that their real need is to lose weight and without considering losing weight can make them healthier and can make them away from some severe illnesses. In fact, all their failures in the past were just because they lack of motivation to lose weight!

In order to deal with this problem and take some action, not to let the past interfere yourself, the first step is to start it all again today! Seeks every methods available from everywhere around you such as internet, books, and other useful resources and start learning from it and set a realistic and detailed plan for it today. If you procrastinate, you will be overweight like this forever. So start it from today is the best and first solution.

Seek support from family and friends. Believe me, they are really helpful motivation for you to lose weight. Just meet them and have a discussion. They might have some good tips and they can be an observer for you while you're trying to deal with your problems. But if you can't find anyone who can give you a helping hand, no worries, it's your life; you take control on your own life; you do it for yourself, not for others.

Track your weight every time. While you're working on your plan you need to weight yourself every week to see the difference. Once you see some little weight goes down, you will feel happy that your effort is not useless. But if the results are the same, don't give up. It's not the end of the world. Giving up only makes you have a more major failure in life.

Put any kinds of motivation around you such as photos of slim celebrities etc to make you you hope that you will be a new refreshing person after losing weight.

Ask friends or family about how you look after a period of time. If they say you've lost some weight, you will feel definitely happier and you will want to lose more pounds until your ultimate goal.

Don't give up! This is the only way to make your effort last until the end. If you fail at something, your life is not going to fall but it can teach you a lesson and make you stand up again and avoid those past mistakes. However saying is more difficult than doing, but as long as you strongly believe in yourself, nothing is impossible anymore.

I hope you can achieve it. Stay positive!
