List All the Things that Make You Happy

If you don't know what your passion is in life, you will find it very depressing when you look around feel like you don't know what the meaning of your life is. Your passion defines who you are and what difference you will make in the world.

Many people already know what their passion is. They know what they love to do and they know how they want to interact with that hobby or career that defines who they are. There are other people in the world that have no clue what they want to do in life. They have no clue what drives them to live on.

I think it's important to discover what your passion is. You have to know what will make you look forward to getting out of bed every morning. You have to know what will keep you up way past your bedtime just to complete a project or helping people in some way shape or form.

I think the easiest way to find out what your passion is, is to sit down with the piece of paper and make a list of everything that makes you happy. Think of things like:

Raising honorable and happy children.

Taking care of the homeless

Writing the perfect musical score for a blockbuster movie.

This list can be as long as you want it to be. The more things in life that make you happy, the better. Realize that your passion should only be one or two of these items because if you have too many passions you will get strung out or you won't complete anything to the point where you don't feel good about it. You lose passion in everything.

How Do You Want to Leave Your Legacy?

I think everybody wants to live forever. Physically it's not something that is possible with today's technology. Some years down the road we might be able to find a way to extend our lives indefinitely. Until then we have to find other ways to live on past our own lifespan.

The easiest way to do this is to leave a legacy. We have to do something that people will remember us for. It can be as small as making a change for your family, giving members of your family a reason to say that you did something great.

You could also leave a legacy in the world and your society. If you can do something that is massively important, completely needed by a massive number of people then you will be remembered. If you can have a piece of artwork or writing that people will want to enjoy for many years to come then you might be able to live long past a normal sense of forever.

You can create your own legacy by planning out what you want to do. You don't necessarily have to think about it as a legacy. You can think about it as doing good in your community. You can think about it as something that you want to do to change the world. You can do this just because it's the right thing to do. You don't have to do it just because you want to live forever.

A legacy can be created in countless, nearly infinite number of ways. You can create a piece of fiction that will surpass the test of time. You can win an Olympic gold and show the world that you were able to do something extraordinary. You can break a world record. You can stand up to government officials and make a change, that no one thought would ever change. You could help thousands of homeless or hungry people. You could find ways to call them and take care of and give them medicine.

Think about what you're passionate about and create your legacy within that. You may need help to make it happen, in fact you probably will need help. Doing something big, something important will be enough. Even if your remembered or not, the people's lives you touch will remember you for a long time.

Make Sure You Are Impacting the World

The world is always going to be there whether you're in or not. The world is constantly changing and the people in it are constantly moving. The fact that you are here is a testament to the greatness of our planet.

Those creative aspects of our existence do not have to remain random. You can create something within that construct to build on to what is good in our world.

The world doesn't owe you anything. The fact that you are here is the statement. You owe your life to the existence of our planet. It is our responsibility to make the way we live as joyful as possible.

Make a change, meet as many people as you can and experience everything you can. If there's something you don't like, find a way to make a change. If you can make someone else's life better, then do it. I have always believed that making a difference in the lives of people that surround you is probably the most important part of living.

Find Others Who Share Your Passion

Get others involved in what you are doing. You're not the only one who wants to make a change in the world. You're not the only one who wants to leave a legacy for their family and friends and community. If you have an idea or someone near you has an idea, share it with each other.

Take time to meet with each other and have dinner and talk about the things that matter to you. If you can get enough interested people to do something that might make a difference for the good then getting together to make those things happen will be extremely important.

Don't just show up. Bring a notebook and write down your ideas. Write down some of the ideas other people suggest. Help each other implement these ideas and grow them into something that is amazing. Get excited about it and show the world what kind of difference you are going to make.

Testing Your Passion

You may not have the passion for something that you think you did at first. Sometimes you have to test whether or not your passion is really what you think it is. Sometimes you get to the point where you think you might be successful at something and then realize you hate the process of doing it. This may mean you need to change your passion.

Don't worry too much about having to change what you're passionate about because it's your life and your desires are constantly changing. It's important to move into change with your feelings and your emotions and your desires to do things that make you happy. Just make sure you're not hurting anyone including yourself when you make these changes.

If you have to sit down and write what you're feeling, thenthat is something you should do. Writing these feelings down may lead you to an alternate choice, a different way of thinking about what it is you desire most in life. Sometimes you just need to reassess what you're looking for. You might not be far off from what you're looking for. You just need a moment to open your mind to new opportunities.

Growing Your Passion

When you figure out what your passion is and have made it succeed even in a small way then it's time to start multiplying the success, making your passion grow exponentially.

Growing your passion is a joy that not many people get to experience. It's a moment in time that can bring excitement and fulfillment to your life. Growing a business or a friendship or helping millions of people instead of just a couple of hundred can be an amazing feeling.

There are ways to do this by taking gradual steps. You want to move into a higher level without risking a lot more than what you have. If you only lose what you have you haven't lost everything. If you lose a bunch of credit that you can't payback because your expanded ideas have failed then you end up owing more without being able to pay it back then you will feel like you are in a deep cavern without a way to get out. This can be troublesome. It can destroy relationships. Make sure you are growing gradually and only grow when you're sure it's going to take off.

If You Lose Your Passion, Find Another One

We lose interest in things pretty easily. If we have a passion for something, we hope that our interest in it will continue for years to come. It's not always the case. If you lose your passion you should not worry to much about it. We lose interest in things pretty easily.

I think passions are like ideas. They are a dime a dozen. You can have whatever passion you want. You just have to figure out which one you want to strive for, which one you can attack every day for years. If you can find that then you are set.

Things change. People change. Situations change. Technologies change. There are a lot of reasons why you might lose your passion. You might lose your passion because something broke in a relationship. You might have to use that broken relationship to create a new passion. Passions can be created out of heartbreak and depression. Don't be afraid to use these things to create it. Build on something that moves you, makes you feel emotion. See where it takes you.
