Making Choices is a Challenge in Adolescence

The adolescent years of a female are challenging times for anyone. Diet, appearance, behavior and social choices make a difference in how the young female will turn out in their early adulthood. Hair styles change and clothing styles fluctuate based on what the peers are wearing. The decision is up to the individual how to express a unique style that identifies that person..

I Became Someone Else

The day I decided

I didn't like my hair

I became

Someone else.

I woke up when it was straight

But then I came home

and my hair was curly;

I realized I was

Someone else-

I could catch

The guy's attention

With a glance and a turn,

I did not have to yearn.

I was

Someone else.

The day I decided that

I did not like my stomach,

I took the pills that would

Make it shrink,

I believed

I was fat and

Wore a size seven

Then the guys

Gave me the attention

Then I became

Someone else.

Then one day

I decided I did not want

To be alone

For the rest of my life

I thought I would try to be

Someone's wife,

I dared to become

Someone else.

Then I didn't mind

When I gained the weight

It was a child for whom I would

Await. It was great.

Again, I became

Someone else.

Then, one day,

The guy I married became

Someone else.

So I had to change,

Again, I became

Someone else.

For the next few years,

I wanted to have some fun,

But it was on the run,

Abused, ignored, broke, alone,

Even tried the porn,

But I was scorned,

So I had to change into

Someone else,

Or I would surely die....

Now I am

Someone else,

I am a

Child of the Father.

And each day

In Him

Takes me farther

Away from

Who I used to be,

No matter how much we change, Jesus still loves us.

We all go thru changes, especially as the aging process dictates. The person inside is what matters and it's often the person inside that needs to see an outward change to reflect the inner change.

Wow, how true is this, as women we do this a lot, and then FINALLY, we are truly who we are meant to be in Christ!!! Beyond awesome - there's not a button to push for that, but all the buttons were pushed, except funny. I have to share this one. It is excellent. You are really putting these out for the glorify of our Father. "The old has passed away, and we are now new creatures in Christ!" God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Beautiful! I love it! Changing is something we all do, but often times it's viewed as a negative. I hear all of the time, "He/She just isn't the person they used to be." We all have the power to change for the better in Him.
