Is Healing Real & For Today? Delia Knox's Story

Updated on August 31, 2011

Is Healing Possible?

OK, OK... so I chose a relatively volatile subject - healing.  Forgive me, and continue reading.  I am fairly confident reading this hub will be worth the investment of your time.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves, and combat disease. There are definitely steps we can take towards natural healing. (I have written blogs about the importance of healthy immune systems.) But what about when the unthinkable happens. A tragic accident occurs? A disease manifests in horrid symptoms? What do you do then?

People have been known to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in pursuit of healing. People have traveled the globe in search of a cure for paralysis, cancer, the list is endless. Theologians and spiritualists debate on the validity of contemporary healing.

The purpose of this hub is not to debate healing, but to share a video of a paraplegic of 22 plus years get up out of her wheelchair. PLEASE READ ON!

Delia featured in Global News Media as a Paraplegic

I saw this woman last fall in her wheelchair, and my husband saw her in it last month. About two weeks after my husband saw and spoke with Delia (the former paragplegic), the event in the video took place. Delia and I have many mutual friends who have known her for decades, and who have witnessed her living in a wheelchair since a drunk driver struck her in 1987, rendering her paralyzed from the waist down. This was not partial paralysis . This was full blown, documented paralyis. In fact, Delia has performed as a vocalist across the globe in her wheelchair for years.

BUT -- you don't know me. Nor do you know my acquaintances. Which is why the following is so vital for you to wrap your mind around -- the abundant documentation of Delia's paraplegis, not only that it existed, but indeed for 22 years. You see, Delia Knox had been featured in multiple news media when she was a paraplegic. News media such as New York Daily News, which titled her feature as "She Doesn't Walk She Soars"; as well as on BET,700 Club, CBN, TBN, CTS.

August 27, 2010 - Delia Walks

Below are two videos. I am sharing the videos motivated - not for potential arbitration and bantering with naysayers - but to breathe hope into the desparate. One is the night when for the first time in over 22 years, she stood, and with aid, walked. You can see strength return to her body as later in the video she actually is lifting her legs, almost in a slow-motion high-step march.

The second video is of Delia (that is her name) walking unassisted a week later, as her leg muscles, having been unused for over two decades, are regaining their strength.

Incomprehensible Joy

In the video, you see Delia and her husband embrace. What you don't see, and wouldn't know, is that was the couple's first time embracing while standing. You see, Levy Knox married Delia after her accident, many years after her accident. He was a widower when he met her. He married her about nine (9) years ago, from what mutual friends have told me.

What love, what devotion! For more on their story, check out the link to the right "BLING". Regardless of your faith, this true love story will inspire and touch you.

An Amazing Woman

Listen to Delia describe her women's network organization, 3D Women.  She could have felt sorry for herself, but look at what she has accomplished while her body was limited.  You'll notice in the video she is always seated.  This videos was posted on August 9, 2010 to www.Youtube.com, just shy of two weeks before Delia walked.

At the end of video, you can see Delia singing from wheelchair

Atmosphere for Change

Whatever you want to call it - the anointing, atmospheric energy, emotionalism superceding physiological boundaries -- the healing is real and took place.  Delia gives full credit to God and his son Jesus.

Where? In the Mobile Convention Center, Mobile, AL, USA.

What? The group hosting the event, Church of His Presence , calls the meetings Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival .

When? It's been going on for months, although it was recently moved to the Mobile Convention Center to adequately house the thousands of seekers, who are beginning to stream in from across the nation and globe.

Who? The group hosting the event, Church of His Presence , welcomes anyone and everyone.

So Now What?

So, your interest is perked, and you would like to learn more. Or, you may be a skeptic through and through.  I encourage you to conduct your own research.  Contact the media which interviewed and featured Delia in the past. You can do research from the web, contact the Knox's through their websites, or even attend the conference.

If you would like to attend the conference and don't live on the Gulf Coast, you may need to reserve flights and overnight accommodations. To give you at-your-fingertip convenience, I am providing links about Mobile, hotels, and travel insurance for those coming from out-of-country.

Should you decide to visit Mobile, the conference is only in the evenings, except for the Sunday morning schedule. You'll probably be curious what else you can do to spend your time. There is an IMAX theatre, the Battleship, beaches, shopping and more.
