Lose Weight with Kitchari- The Cleansing Diet
Cleansing Diet
For those of you that are feeling heavy here is a recipe for Kitchari~ the Cleansing diet. Used in Ayurveda to help with simplifying digestion and cleansing the body.
Cleansing Kitchari
1 cup white basmati rice
1 cup split mung dhal
2 tbs. ghee
½ tea. cumin
½ tea. coriander
½ tea. fennel
½ tea. turmeric
4 cups boiling water
Wash rice and beans until water runs clear. In a large pot heat the oil and sauté the spices for a few minutes. Add rice and mung beans. Saute over low heat for 3 minutes. Add boiling water. Stir, cover, and simmer gently over low heat for 35 minutes. Serve warm.
