This article is not meant to be for medical advice. It is my personal experience with the rare virus known as Tropical Spastic Paraparesis. Although, I do include informative sights and videos, I am not a medical professional

Sexually Transmitted - Be Safe - Be Smart

Not all victims experience the depth of symptoms I have. Predisposed due to a gene, a leading virologist from Johns Hopkins said to me, "It's simply bad luck."

Many victims dont' even know they are carriers. A woman can pass this on to her baby through breast-feeding without even realizing it.

Always, always, take precautions when having sex. And always make sure you get blood tests before you marry, whether they are required or not in your state.

Hello Nancy, I see you are relatively new here at HP. Welcome to our wonderful writing site. I wish you much success.

I am in awe of your strength and positive outlook, despite the egregious experiences you have been through. You seem to be handling this health issue quite gracefully and I applaud you.

I enjoy your writing style, Nancy and hope to get to know you better. The topics you are sharing are priceless and invaluable to your readers. We all need to learn of issues that are a cruel, but very real part of life. Thank you for sharing.....UP++pinned & tweeted
