Medical Doctor Explains Why Medications Are Not Good For Health

Joel Fuhrman M.D. explains why medications do not really work. You can use foods to heal yourself of health problems and diseases.

Dr Oz says that his message is "radical", "revolutionary" and "critically important". Dr. Fuhrman says that medications (medicines or drugs) also hurt your health.

This article was written December 10, 2012. I saw this Dr. Oz TV show last week December 5, 2012. It was a repeat of a TV show that first aired on September 18, 2012. A week ago Dr Oz had an article in Time Magazine that had a negative view on organic foods.

He did not say that organic foods were worse for your health, but did say that they were for "elitist" people that are "snooty" and that it is "undemocratic" to eat organic foods.

This article has a 4 minute video on it. It explains that if people knew how little the drugs did, they would not buy them. So the doctors do not tell them. See The Actual Benefit of Diet vs. Drugs.

Many are very upset with him saying this but he probably was offered a great deal for financial health or the financial health of his children. President Obama says before he was first elected that he would make sure that GMO foods were labeled but he has not done anything about that. Monsanto is more powerful than any mafia group ever.

Many more people watch his TV show for free than people who have to pay to read that article on Time Magazine by either buying a copy or getting a subscription to read it online. This TV show with Dr Fuhrman is of great value to humanity. It is estimated that 40% of medications are for the side effects of other medications.

When Dr Oz asks him about medications, he uses this analogy to explain it. If you have the oil light on the dashboard of your car flashing, it is indicating that you need to add more oil. Taking medications is like cutting the wire to that light so that it no longer flashes. It has not addressed the problem of not enough oil but the message (like a symptom) is no longer there that anything is wrong.

For example you can take a drug (medication) to lower your blood pressure, but it does not stop the hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis / arteriosclerosis) from increasing. Ex-President Bill Clinton had a stent inserted into a heart artery but that does not address the cause. But he did change to a plant-based or vegan diet. A couple of months ago, Roseanne Barr had a heart attack and had a stent put in. She also changed to a plant-based or vegan diet. Robin Williams also had a heart attack but he changed to a raw plant-based or vegan diet.

Have you heard of Christiane Northrup M.D.? She has written best selling books on women's health. She has an article called Vitamins Versus Drugs: Which is Safer? (no longer on internet). It says:

As I explained, pharmaceutical drugs mask symptoms—they don’t get to the root cause of the medical problem. In acute situations, they can save your life. And yes, sometimes they are helpful and necessary. But when an entire population has been led to believe that finding and taking the right drug for every ill is the Holy Grail of healthcare, we have a problem—especially since most health conditions respond so beautifully to holistic treatments.

See my article on the Latest Science on Health Benefits of a Plant-Based or Vegan Diet for more on this. It has pictures of beautiful vegans like Alicia Silverstone and Demi Moore. Dr Fuhrman has been healing people of different health problems or diseases for decades using fasting (a vacation from eating) followed by a change in diet. He is the country's leading expert on fasting and about foods to eat that heal like medicines.

Dr Fuhrman's mother went to Dr. Herbert Shelton (N.D., D.C.) who had fasted about 40,000 people. He fasted her for a few weeks for a total transformation in health. Later Joel Fuhrman was a ice skater and he broke his foot. Other doctors told him that he would never skate again. So he went to Dr Herbert Shelton who fasted Fuhrman for 42 days on pure water and nothing else (longer than another Jew, Jesus, fasted). He went on to win some skating medals. Then Fuhrman became a medical doctor (M.D.)

For more on fasting see my article The Many Benefits of Fasting with quotes from 4 MDs including Joel Fuhrman M.D. This article links to another article on fasting with quotes from 23 medical doctors about fasting.

While writing this article I am also watching the Dr Oz TV show. American Idol judge Randy Jackson said that he had diabetes and did not know it. He thought that it was a cold. Randy Jackson does not like the word exercise so he uses the word moving instead. He loves playing tennis and doing yoga. So you can add him to the article about 23 Celebrities That Do Yoga.

This webpage has a 5 minute video about Dr Fuhrman talking about medications (drugs) on the Dr Oz show. This article on What Everyone Needs to Know About Modern Medicine tells why it is much more profitable to treat a disease with a drug (medication) than to cure or prevent a disease.

The article The Worst Things for Health talks about how Elvis Presley, Heath Ledger (died at age 28), Michael Jackson, Brittany Murphy, Bruce Lee, Whitney Houston and Judy Garland all died from legal drugs (also called medications). Also it has a link to a 600 page book about natural health by Dr. Herbert Shelton who was mentioned above as having fasted 40,000 people. Note that most people who went to him and Dr Fuhrman do not want to fast for weeks but they go since other doctors say that there is no hope for them.

This describes the first video below:

Joel Fuhrman MD has cured hundreds of people of diabetes using diet and lifestyle. The American Diabetic Association wanted him to write about his work -- but then objected because their sponsor, Eli Lilly drug company, might feel threatened by an MD promoting a cure which could destroy the market for their diabetes medications. This is an excerpt from Dr. Furhman's presentation at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo 2007.

There are many lawsuits against drug companies going on all the time. People who are depressed use Zoloft. Recently (2014) I saw that many people are suing Pfizer since they did not warn people that Zoloft can cause serious birth defects in their babies.

On second video below Dr. Fuhrman says to eat GBOMBS to reverse and cure diseases. This acronym stands for greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries and seeds/nuts. He calls his diet the nutritarian diet since you are eating nutrient dense foods.
