My HCG Diet Experiences
There is a lot of controversy over the HCG diet. I have read many articles for and many against. I can tell you what I have experienced actually following the diet. I was first introduced to HCG one day when I was spending the afternoon at my cousin's house. She had been overweight as long as can remember and had tried every diet she could find. The thing that struck me was that she looked absolutely amazing! She had lost weight and was so happy. I had to ask her about what she had done. She lost 40 pounds using the HCG diet and had kept it off for almost a year. She explained a bit about the diet and gave me a hand out and told me I could find all kinds of information free online. So I went home and scoured the internet and read the handout. I contacted her to get the same pellets she used because I could be sure that they were the real thing.
My first round was about 35 days and I lost 22 pounds. Honestly, I didn't know how well this would work for me because I have some major thyroid issues. I wished I would have lost more, but I was happy with these results. My real excitement came when I was in phase 3, where you are supposed to maintain your weight within 2 pounds above or 2 pounds below. I had absolutely no problems maintaining that weight. And to my amazement I did not have the same food cravings that I used to. I used to crave chips, crackers, pretzels and would eat at night a lot. Now I crave eggs, steak, salads, and strawberries and have no problems not eating at night. It is so liberating. I can't believe how great I feel. Most of the weight I lost was from my waist area, where I had the most trouble. Usually on a diet, my waist would be the last place I would lose any weight. I can have wine and beer with no worries about weight gain. It's great!
I have started another short round of HCG (23 days). I was going to wait until after the summer was over since we always have so much going on, but I was so excited to lost more weight. I have never been excited to go on a diet ever. I know this works and I can eat normal foods after. There are restrictions for the first 3 weeks after the diet, but there is so much that you can eat that I never felt deprived. I am on day 17 and have lost 10.6 pounds. I have a pair of jeans that were still a but snug after my first round and now they are too big for me. I am so thrilled with these results. I am probably going to do one more short round this fall and I will be close or at my goal weight.
