My Life on Pills - a poem of sorts
1 pill when I get up
5 with breakfast
2-3 during the day, if I remember
2 pills around dinner time
3 more at bed
Then the "as needed's"
One to pick me up
One to calm me down
One if I’m dizzy
One for migraines
One for aches and pains
Don’t forget the upset stomach
Like Alice in wonderland
One pill to make me big
And one to make me small
Seems ideal
A little of this
A little of that
The perfect cocktail and
Poof
Normal
Far from it
More like a lab rat
Why can't there be only one
to replace them all
Then I won't have to decide
This one or that
Take less or more
Just ride it out
Something's not right
Does this one still work
How do I know
Perhaps I will cut back
Bad idea
Congratulations
I won myself a double dose
Better
For now
Don't skip
Don't forget
And God oh God
Don't run out
What's that noise
Rattling in my purse
It's my jar of candy
At least they are pretty colors
