My experience of Meditation

Updated on June 18, 2013

I lived a very usual and normal life. No major worries. Lost in the daily routine and hustle bustle of life. It was a perfect comfortable life with high spirits and prosperity.

One day when my friend forced me to do the Art of Living course saying that I will experience something really beautiful. And yes she was true. I learned Meditation and it was so profound. I was literally blown away!!

Practice of meditation brought about the drastic change in me. My day itself started with a broad smile on my face and I could do the things faster than usual. Energy gained by me from meditation was unbelievable. It was meditation which made me realize that life has a bigger purpose than mere eating, sleeping and working. I was experiencing something larger than life.

It is not at all a big deal to smile when we live a normal life. But it not easy to be in a calm state of mind when we are going through some tough situations. It is a challenge. But for me meditation made me unshakable even when there were tough situations in front of me.

Every profession has some sort of pressure. Person may be a labourer, a doctor, a writer or an actor, they have their own workload with associated worries. But regular practice of meditation helps one to calm down to great extend and remain focused and work more effectively and efficiently.

From childhood we come across people who tell us not to take tension or not to worry but no one tells how to be free from the worries. And believe me meditation help one to be live a stress free life. It is something you can do anywhere, anytime yet a very powerful tool.

It is said that state of mind reflects the quality of life he/she is living. If you have everything in your life , all luxuries but there is no smile on your face then what is the point in having the rich materialistic life. Meditation is something which take you from your own space to the space of infinity which is so enchanting and rejuvenating.

It is always recommended to do some jogging or yoga exercise before doing meditation. After the exercise all the lethargy from the body is drained out and the experience of meditation becomes more beautiful.

In this modernized world the stress has become universal but it is up to us to decide whether to entertain it or get rid of it. So why waste time. Just sit down, close your eyes and dive into yourself...

Hope the video below inspires you to start the practice of meditation... :)
