Facts and trivia:
- Strawberries are related to love and flirtation. This originated from France when in the olden days, during wedding breakfast newlyweds were traditionally served a soup of thinned sour cream, strawberries, borage (also known as starflower) and powdered sugar.
- Strawberry is the only fruit with seeds on the outside and it has around 200 tiny seeds in each strawberry. These dry, yellow seeds from the outside are actually considered a separate fruit.
- They are not classified as true berry unlike blueberries and cranberries, which has seeds inside.
On a recent national survey conducted by the California Strawberry Commission, strawberry lovers are noted to be health conscious, fun loving, intelligent and happy people, whereas, those who dislike strawberry are described as boring, weird, stuffy, pick eaters who avoid healthy foods.
