Why Super Yoga?
Yoga is over 5,000 years old with origins in India. Sages and Yogis would commit a lifetime of practice and study to find the best methods for longevity, health and well - being. Different movements were said to have both physical and spiritual origins, many which were used to worship the gods and godesses of the land.
The physical approach to Yoga included a combination of breath with movements, often which were held for longer periods of time. The movements were designed to add strength and flexibility. It was also recognized as a way to add in vitality, longevity and well - being.
The mental and spiritual approaches of Yoga added into this with the development of mudras, seen as fingers which touched other fingers to channel certain types of energy. The idea was to create a relationship from the physical presence into the mental and spiritual realms.
In today's practices, Yoga has lost the essence and beliefs that many sages and yogis used, instead creating an aerobic and workout program. At the same time, the 21st century lifestyle has demands that the traditional formats of dedication of one's life to the practice don't warrant.
