Other Uses for Preparation-H

Updated on August 14, 2010

I've modeled in various fashion shows and hair shows in my younger years. I was 5'8 inches tall when I wasn't in heels. I had no stomach and I weighed less than 115 lbs. I could model any kind of attire because of my size, I had the look and the walk all in one. Those were fun times but time brings about a change in us. We get older and we're not as active as we once were. Our biological clock starts to slow down. We tend to eat more and gain weight especially in our mid-section due to our leisurely life styles. We have high intentions on losing weight with various types of diets and speaking for myself, I tend to lose that drive momentum after a while slacking from my diet regiment.

There is something I found interesting and has worked. It's applying a little of Preparation-H to my abdominal area to tighten and tone those muscles.

At one time, Preparation-H was only used for shrinking hemorrhoidal tissue. The active ingredient in Preparation-H is phenylephrine HCL. The phenylephrine HCL works by tightening and constricting blood vessels to a particular area of the body, by reducing the blood and fluid flow to that area.  Many people have found many non-sanctioned uses for Preparation H.

Some has applied a little Preparation-H on their face to firm sagging and prevent wrinkles.

So if you'd like a tighter muscle tone apply a thin layer over the abdomen area to tighten, and for better results you can use a waist wrap or some Glad cling wrap. Apply a little exercise regiment and drink plenty of water and as your stomach shrinks you tend not to eat as much, the results are wonderful.

My wife is a very funny person. She told me I should rub this on a part of my person she thinks should settle down once in awhile. I find her futile efforts to shrivel me quite amusing.

Who knew! I know I've heard of it shrinking bags around the eyes, but never any of those other things. Um! Interesting. Great hub.
