Plant Spirit Healing, What is it and How Can it Help You?

Updated on October 24, 2013

All Things Are Energy

All things in this world are composed of energy and radiate out energy. This we know. Some of this energy is good for our bodies and our spirits and other energies, not so much. A simple example of unseen energies and the effects they can have on the human energy system would be radioactive elements. We know that, although we can’t see the energy that radiates from Plutonium for instance, that it can harm the human body and we therefore avoid it. Precautions are taken should a person need to be around such radioactive materials even for short periods of time. In very much the same way (although perhaps not as immediately evident) other things in our environment can also have a negative effect. Things that may at first seem pretty benign can cause serious harm to our energy bodies. Things such as continuous noise, electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs), or negative energy from other people or places, to name just a few, have a cumulative negative effect on our energy bodies. Likewise other things have positive energy and can be a great plus to our energy systems and therefore our physical bodies; positive people, time spent in nature, and healing plants are some examples. If you’ve ever met someone and felt they had a “good vibe” then you’ve experienced this energy first hand and already have some awareness of it.

Plant Spirit Healing works on the knowledge that long before disease manifests in the physical it first manifests in our energy bodies. All beings are composed of different levels of energy vibrating at different rates or intensities. Human beings are composed of a physical body, energetically the most dense, and layers of energy surrounding the physical body that vibrate at different rates. This multi-layered system is called the” aura”. The human energy system is also composed of seven main chakras, a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “wheel of light”. The chakras are round or spherical in shape, vortexes of energy that allow us to relate to and interact with the material world and other people. Each of the seven main chakras is located at specific points within the body and correspond to specific organs, stages of development and emotional/mental/spiritual issues. These multiple layers of the aura and chakras can become blocked and hold discord that can cause a myriad of issues; unfulfilling relationships, unsatisfying work, emotional blocks, and, if left unattended for too long, even physical issues. The human energetic system can become blocked from many negative situations such as discussed above plus traumatic experiences that are not fully processed, repeated thought patterns, stress patterns, habits, and energies we pick up from other people or places.

The Spirit in All Things

It is a common belief by many cultures around the world that all things have an internal Spirit or a spiritual element as a part of their essential nature. Traditional healing from many cultures over at least the last few thousand years, virtually always includes the spiritual or energetic part of the human being in the healing process. Western medicine is nearly exclusive in its practice of treating only the physical body. In that regard Western medicine’s management of illness can be compared to bringing your car to a mechanic when it breaks down. Of course a human being is much more complex than a car and healing needs to take place on multiple levels, not just the physical.

Traditional healers of all cultures have long known of, talked of and to the spirits of plants. These healing spirits have been included in the healing ceremonies of many of the South American indigenous people such as the Q’ero, the North American Indian First Peoples as well as the healing ceremonies of aboriginal Australia and certainly in many other cultures around the world. All traditional healing recognizes that each plant, in addition to having its own physical healing properties also has its own unique energetic signature or vibration that can be incorporated into healing ceremony to bring about balance and resolve issues. The practitioner trained in these healing arts would have plant allies that have bestowed their healing gifts upon the practitioner. The healing practitioner would be instructed exactly how to engage the energy of the plants which might be brought in through song or specific healing ceremony.

As a healing art, Plant Spirit healing seeks to realign the human energy field into a harmonious state releasing discordant energies as a part of that process. Working with the plant spirits the practitioner utilizes shamanic techniques such as soul retrieval, chakra balancing, soul alignment, soul contracts, extractions, and clearing and healing of the ancestral lineage to name just a few of those techniques.

What Plant Spirit Healing Can Do For You

Plant Spirit Healing is an energetic modality that promotes deep healing at the causative level. It is, therefore, life changing energetic healing work that has the ability to promote profound and lasting positive change for the individual. The release of discordant energy through the use of Plant Spirits can bring up subconscious issues, previously unknown, into the consciousness for resolution. Lifelong habits and addictions can be cleared and resolved permanently. Sometimes a long standing issue can suddenly be resolved and deep insights are usually gained in understanding why a certain condition has presented itself. Ultimately, it can bring about needed balance and a sense of peace and harmony. It’s important however, to understand that Plant Spirit Healing is done in a partnership between the practitioner and the client. The client must participate in their own healing for the healing to be truly effective and for the new energy pattern to remain intact.

What to Expect in a Treatment

In a Plant Spirit Healing session the client will lay fully clothed on a treatment table, while the practitioner calls in the spirits of the plants to perform the needed energetic shifts. During the session, depending upon what is needed, the practitioner may move about the patient, at times laying hands over certain areas in the body. At other times a drum or other percussion instrument may be utilized. Sometimes to call in the energy of a plant, the plant’s song may be hummed or sung to bring about the necessary energetic release.

In a session, some clients report seeing colors, visions or experience a profound sense of peace. Others may not feel much going on at all. Still other people may have immediate insights. More often the effects of a Plant Spirit Healing session will be felt for a few weeks to a couple months depending upon the degree of imbalance and the amount of sessions that have been done.

Plant Spirit Healing, like other forms of vibrational healing, is not a miracle cure. True healing is a journey and takes time and dedication to the path. A good healer should function as a coach and a guide to assist you on your healing journey with the energetic help from the Plant Spirits. True healing takes place when the client is supported in their own journey and guided to their own answers and spiritual unfolding.
