In health care since 1977, but keenly aware of Western medicine's shortcomings, Rose Mary began exploring natural health in the late 1990s.

Homeopathics for Upper Respiratory Symptoms

I have found natural, homeopathic products that relieve my sinus and flu symptoms, as well as prevent full blown sinusitis and flu.

Since about 2008, I have eliminated my reliance on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and embraced natural medicine. There are many advantages of natural medicine, not the least of which is prevention. Since I have had a lifelong tendency toward sinus and upper respiratory illnesses, I now keep a small arsenal of homeopathic remedies on standby.

These products are made by King Bio Homeopathic Natural Medicine. Adult dose is three sprays in the mouth, three times a day. They are tasteless, and completely free of side effects. At the first signs of illness, I start using the appropriate sprays.

Sinus Relief

For sinus symptoms, use King Bio Sinus Relief. This formula is recommended for “symptoms associated with sinusitis, hay fever or upper respiratory allergies” for symptoms of “runny nose, sinus pain and pressure, sneezing, sinus headache, nasal congestion, mucus drainage, sore or dry throat; itchy, burning, or swollen eyes”.

At the first signs of sickness, such as secretions that are no longer clear, or increased secretions and drainage which causes a cough, I increase to up to six doses per day in the acute phase. I may also use additional products, depending on my symptoms.

Sore Throat & Laryngitis

King Bio Sore Throat & Laryngitis formula is indicated for “temporary relief of minor sore throat symptoms: dryness, burning, tickling, hoarseness, rough voice from overuse, laryngitis”. It is great for singers and speakers to maintain their voice.

I was a speaker every year, from 2010 to 2015, for my occupational therapy annual state conference. The first year, I delivered a 2-hour talk on Saturday, and could tell my voice was a little scratch, and I sounded a little hoarse. The next day I had lost my voice completely! I delivered my second presentation that year whispering through a microphone!

My second year I had to deliver over 13 hours of continuing education over a three-day period. I used this one preventatively, starting about a week before conference. From that point on, I always used my laryngitis spray before, during and after conference, and was able to deliver all of my lectures with full, strong voice.

Lungs & Bronchial Relief

The Lungs & Bronchial Relief formula is indicated for “temporary relief of minor symptoms of difficult breathing: lung congestion, dry cough, bronchial inflammation, wheezing, hoarseness, coughing attacks, bronchial mucous, mucous congestion”.

I never have difficulty breathing, but I have found this formulation to be helpful. When I get sinusitis or rhinitis, I usually use all three formulations discussed here. I never feel like any congestion settles in my lungs, and I haven’t had pneumonia since I was a child, but I sometimes feel like mucous is gurgling in my “pipes”. As soon as I notice this symptom now, I start using this formula, and find it to be helpful.

More on Prevention

From 2010 through 2015, I taught a morning class with two afternoon labs, two days a week in the fall at a community college. As it happens, Fall semester includes cold and flu season.

In 2011, I noticed over a relatively short period of time that at least a third of the students were sick with cold and flu symptoms. A few of them missed a day or two of classes. At the first sign of symptoms, I started using my King Bio products. Whereas the students had persistence of symptoms for one to two weeks, I had relatively mild symptoms for only a couple days. Usually I’m one of the ones with persisting symptoms for several weeks.

My first year of teaching also included my state conference laryngitis experience. Thereafter I faithfully used my homeopathics every year. King Bio homeopathics have really helped me to treat and even prevent cold, sinus and flu symptoms. I make sure I never run out and take them with me when I travel. They are available on Amazon, but I usually order them from Vitamin Shoppe and pay with PayPal.
