Simple helpful recipes make life easier, especially when you are trying to lose weight. Cooking your own food is one of the best ways to reduce your weight, be knowledgeable about what you are eating and the ingredients that you consume.

Versatility is vital to losing weight and enjoying food is paramount for me. If i don't like what i am supposed to eat then i won't stick to it, so it won't become apart of my eating routine. Food is at the top of my list when it comes to weight loss. Besides i like to eat!

Substitution or food replacement is how we thrive on this low carb lifestyle, it also helps to curb cravings for sugar. So, always look for foods and recipes that makes sticking to low carb cooking possible. The more options you have the better your experience.

As well as being on the look out for weight loss friendly foods you also want them to boost your metabolism. These foods assist the body in burning stored carbohydrates and your body's stored fats. The metabolism's health is vital to the weight loss experience. The more we can keep it rev'd up the better our results.

Knowing your food choices.

Seafood like scallops, shrimp and fish, make a quick healthy meal possible every day of the week and if you want to add healthy oils in your diet, salmon is one of the best fish out there. My warning is to go for wild even though it is a few bucks more, it is better for you.

Meat like chicken, turkey, Cornish hen, lamb and lean beef are quick and easy. Any of these meats are known to be adaptable to your favorite spices and recipes and can be quickly cooked.

Eggs are an awesome quick, easy and convenient way to enhance your enjoyment when losing weight on a low carb lifestyle. Make sure they are always available, because you will be using them constantly, they are so versatile.

Bacon any type, as long as no sugar has been added, is another must have in your fridge. It is one of those meat products that is quick, delicious and versatile.

Butter, real butter is the fat to use for one it can be used in cooking and baking with out contributing carbs to your meals. But if you use bacon i suggest collecting the grease and using it in more savory recipes that call for bacon.

Heavy whipping cream is a low carb item that enhance egg recipes like scramble eggs and quiche. Use this in place of other dairy products, another versatile low carb food item that you can use in sauces for meals and desserts.

Mayo, real mayo minus sugar, read the label.

Sour cream is also important.

Vegetables such as spinach, onions, squash, bell peppers, celery, tomatoes, garlic, and mushrooms. Use these when you are cooking to add fiber to your diet and give your foods substance that will add to satiety - feeling full.

Being Prepared

Having herbs cut ahead of time cuts down prep time when cooking, doing this when you have the time to do it, having things like onions, bell pepper and celery minced and diced before hand gets you in and out of the kitchen in no time.

Basic Egg salad - two eggs, enough mayo to combine, salt and pepper to taste. Varying the recipe helps to eat it more often. Things such as minced herbs such as onions, celery or / and minced bell pepper are great additions, if you like Jalapenos, throw as much as you want in to spice up your metabolism.

Other suggestions

Basic Egg pie or quiche with out pie dough or a substitute using vegetables like thin slices of eggplant.

Chicken recipes that use a lot of vegetables, without sugar, flour and white carbohydrates like white rice or white pasta, substitute brown if you have to have rice or pasta.

Chicken salad with lots of mayo, mustard and hot sauce, all of these need to be without sugar.

Bacon recipes like this simple salad made with mayo, sweet baby frozen peas thawed. You will need to have crumbled bacon, stir these three ingredients together, add a little salt and pepper and enjoy.
