Review of Jillian Michaels' Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
This DVD is about 40 minutes long with a series of cardio circuits. It's a tough video, but highly effective for adding variety to a fitness routine and works well when combined with strength training. No equipment is needed which is always nice, and the only thing required is a mat if you're exercising on a hard surface. Cardio circuits include kickboxing, plyometrics (jump training), calisthenics (think old school gym class exercises), and intervals which vary in intensity. There isn't a ton of instruction in this workout regarding form, because it keeps activity levels and intensity high, so it's important to remember tried and true rules of thumb such as no knees over toes and to keep abs engaged so that there isn't lower back strain.
The circuits fly by, but are demanding. This is a challenging video which may be a stretch for people just starting out, but it is customizable as modifications are shown for most of the exercises. Jillian Michaels delivers another tough video to add to your fitness arsenal. I love this lady. She isn't afraid to challenge people and push them past anything they thought was possible and makes no excuses. It's hard, you're going to sweat buckets, and you're going to get great results if you stick with it. Use in tandem with No More Trouble Zones and a well-rounded minimally processed diet, and I think you'll be amazed at how quickly your body can change.
