SECRETS OF SELF MOTIVATION

Updated on January 24, 2020

1) DON'T WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME OR THE RIGHT MOOD:

Self motivated people do not want to feel good in order to get work done, they have mastered the art of working even when they do not feel like.

2) FOOD CAN ALSO GIVE YOU MOTIVATION:

Eating fiber like leafy green vegetables and fruits can give self esteem and also a mood boost.

3) KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU DON'T WANT:

At times, knowing exactly what you don't want can motivate you to knowing what you want, think of the worst scenario that may happen should you not act on your goals.

4) CURB YOUR WORRY HABIT:

This can be done by making a list of productive and unproductive worries, if you can eliminate any uncertainty with a specific action such as getting a physical test if your worry is healthy related. Approach unproductive worries so you can either learn to live with them or let them go.

5) LACK OF KNOWLEDGE RESULTS IN LACK OF MOTIVATION:

Learn as much as you can about your goals and tasks. Be educated on all possible solutions pertaining your goals.

6) BE POSITIVE:

Being positive and being happy can increase motivation; this helps your mind and body to benefit. Once you are optimistic you will not feel helpless, optimists usually bounce back from by learning from past set backs and using the experience to move forward.

7) DRAW FROM MOTIVATIONAL MEDIA:

Don't undervalue the effect of words from songs, poems or even books keep out negative media and increase the positive and act on positive words.

8) TRY SOMETHING NEW:

Maybe you are stuck in a rut because you are bored. Nothing exciting seems to be happening in your life. It's time to make this happen for yourself by trying something you have never accomplished before. Go for a challenge- learn a language, an instrument or a new sport. This opens your mind to new possibilities and enhances your creativity.

9) CUT DOWN ON THE TV AND PICK UP A BOOK:

Picking up a book makes use of your brain, because you are forced to think, reason, calculate and imagine, all of which stimulate and 'light up' the brain.

10) HAVE A STRONG SUPPORT NETWORK:

Surround yourself with supportive friends so that they can help ease the effects of bad experience and boost confidence.

I was expecting #1 -- and it also happens to be my favorite -- but #2 caught me off guard. But I agree with it. I do feel better about myself when I eat healthy foods. I don't know if it's the foods themselves or if it's more of an emotional thing, but it does seem to work.

      Nice hub.
