Getting Free Help With STDs in Albuquerque

Updated on September 20, 2023

Public Health Offices

I recently did a report for a Biology class I was taking at school and in the process of learning about HIV and AIDS I got to know several people who work at the Public Health Offices in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I had never known this, and so it seems that others do not know it either, but these Public Health Offices offer a wide variety of free services.

As far as STDs go, these offices offer the following:

  • Free, confidential examination and treatment for STDs.
  • Confidential counseling and treatment of contacts (partners) to persons with STDs.
  • Free, anonymous testing and counseling for HIV.
  • Confidential counseling, teaching and prescribing for birth control and emergency contraception.
  • Minors do not need parental consent to receive services in the clinic.

To make things even easier, here is the information for all the offices located in ABQ:

STDs are never a fun thing. They're embarrassing and hard to deal with. Some are even dangerous. The Public Health Offices are dedicated to helping people overcome their STDs, and best thing of all, it's free.

I had a tricky time trying to get all this information in one spot while I was doing my research. There are lots of people who lack the methods to get this information. I felt it a duty to spread this information around as best as I could. Re-posting it here, all in one place, will, I hope, provide at least one person with the help they need.
