Take Life Seriously But Don't Forget To Have A Good Sense of Humor/Positive mental attitude for health

Updated on January 4, 2013

Life is full of stresses

Sure life is serious. There is certainly a lot of things going on that we have to worry about and take seriously. As adults we worry about job security, taxes, housing and feeding our families, crime, terrorists, the environment, illnesses, war, loss of loved ones and the list goes on. Still we wake up every morning to start a brand new day and why not start with a positive mental attitude and a good sense of humor?

Power of Positive Mental Attitude

You can live a happier, healthier life by developing a positive mental attitude. It helps you feel better and reduces your stress levels. Have you ever been around someone who has a negative outlook on everything and you felt totally drained after spending time with them? Try and surround yourself with positive people. A positive outlook will lead to success.

Where's Your Sense of Humor?

It is so true that "laughter is the best medicine". Laughter actually relaxes the whole body, boosts the immune system, triggers the release of endorphins and improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems. Actually laughter is so good for you that there is "Laughter Yoga" where people get together in a group and laugh for health and exercise!

We can't change a lot of the things going on around us but we can try and enrich our lives by not dwelling in the negatives and focusing more on positives and allow ourselves to have a good laugh once in a while~

I think the book & video are excellent. I have always thought the key to enjoying and surviving life is to have positive thoughts, believe in yourself, set goals but most importantly keep going and not give up! Thanks!

Attitude is everything. We can approach life with the glass half full or half empty. It is up to us. Wise words about surrounding ourselves with positive people! The video at the end was great! Rating this useful and up. Thanks!

Sincere thanks for your wonderful comments. I agree with also eating right and exercise in making a difference as well! Someone once said to me..."don't look down or you will see de-feet". Let's keep our chins up!

I wouldn't be where I am today without a positive attitude, and you are right laughter is great medicine.

I have actually noticed a change in the people around me for the better. Mostly the children though, thank goodness they love to laugh and sometimes it is catching which helps the adults too.

I have had people ask me what I have to be happy about, haven't been able to walk for 20 years, every thing I have tried for work has failed. Tried for a few years to get a regular job to no avail.

Happiness is a state of mind, and faith helps. Sometimes finding enough time in a day to do everything needed is hard, but I somehow manage.

I wonder if you might have missed exercise and diet also help with a positive mental attitude and outlook, when you eat right and exercise it can make a big difference in how you feel.
