Your Authentic Self

Updated on September 7, 2014

To quicken your path of personal development....

Personal development is a life long journey and one of the most important things to quicken your growth is "Tell it how it is".

The biggest lies we tell are to ourselves so beginning the truth process is an important part of the journey. If you don't begin by admitting where you are right now how would you know what you need?

By asking yourself what your fears are, what your weaknesses are, you then have a place to begin the next part of your self development journey. Write these down and consciously work with them one at a time. If your ego is still in control and doesnt own the fears or weaknesses then your journey will be a much longer and more painful one! If we dont own where we are right now we usually find out somewhere along the track when the weaknesses and fears trip us up big time.

Are you still telling stories to hold up your own mask? Are you playing poor me by not owning your own spiritual choices before you came down here this time for this particular exciting journey?

Some people have reinforced their own stories so often that they can't remember what the truth is until they meet people who hold the light to the darkness for them by staying clear and reflecting back to them.

If you always keep the same admiring people around you, the same old faces that believe your story then reach out further into new territory where your real awakening can begin.

Start with the little things like never lie when asked a simple question. This may be as simple as not saying you like something when you don't. This doesnt require an insulting response just a truthful one - like - I liked the other one better - Thats not for me. If you begin with editing yourself daily of untruthful statements then you can begin to dismantle the stories you tell others and then dismantle the barriers you have around your authentic self..

Earth Aura

Dare to let others in ...........

We are all on a beautiful planet and came here to be who we truly are, simply, truthfully, ecstatically and in gratitude. Dont stunt your own growth by pretending to be someone else, you were made in perfection.

As you miss parts out of your story or change them for what you may think people would rather hear you are turning away from a holy part of yourself.

Each day, become more aware of how you present yourself to those around you, do they really know who you are, how you really think, what you feel in your alone moments. If you dare to, let them in. Remember "Intimacy" In-to-me-see - how good are you at really being with yourself and sharing that with others.

Try this great affirmation "I am perfect, whole, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy. Just repeating this in the morning as you begin your day changes your vibration and as your energy field becomes used to this strength and positivity you will see the difference in your more authentic behaviour and so will others. Life becomes so much easier when there is no "trying" just "being who you truly are".

Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing - and that quote is from a lovely 83 year old who I happen to come across along the way, who is still being her magical, authentic self.

Remember, its more daring being who you truly are, you could never come up with an edition of yourself that is more than you - Your Authentic Self.

Happy loving, living and being truly REAL

Namaste Linda

I agree with the things you wrote and esp. saying affirmations to start one's day. It does bring us to a positive place. The more we are real and authentic, the happier we are. That has been my personal experience and I thank you for putting these things into words. Love and light... :)

Always nice to find people addressing authentic self.

I've recently joined the hubpages to do the same.

      Perhaps we'll bump into eachother.

      Best thoughts,

Terrimak - you can sail through the menopause with a good, natural food intake and maybe a few herbs like Black Cohosh for flushes etc.

Menopause Like the menstrual cycle is not an illness just a part of our journey as goddesses as we go into a different cycle!!!! Change your mind and change your health. Never go to a male doctor they have no idea what they are talking about and in the Uk they start talking about the bad symptoms of the menopause to every women who turns up in their surgery over the age of 40!!!

In Japan they have no word for menopause because they have no symptoms - they eat a lot of fresh good natural food and a lot of soya in the form of tofu etc. Soya is a pre curser to oestrogen and is excellent as part of your protein food intake. A lot of meat is full of hormones which upset your own hormonal balance. Help some of this helps.

I love this hub. I just joined hubpages four weeks ago. I joined because I wanted someplace where I could be honest and truthful about myself; my struggle with weight-loss and menopause and insights into why I was successful and why I wasn't. I have this saying there is a difference between knowing someone and trusting someone. I believe I made myself terribly and honestly raw.

I am approaching menopause without medication but it has been difficult at times. I seem to have a greater balance later so today is a good day!

I look forward to learning and reading more from you.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Thanks Linda for this... The authentic self is already perfect, only the ego creates the illusion that we aren't.

Universal Laws, I love that name. Wow, I love what you are saying - awareness only begins when we are really honest with ourselves. Being authentic is the gateway to the real you, and that's why I've started re-connecting with people that I meet. I love people because we are so varied and unique and wonderfully made. Everyone has a story and they are all interesting.

Thanks for confirming what I'm striving for - authenticity...

I'm a fan. Can't wait to read more of your hubs...

Hi, have a look at my Hubble Bubble Blog hub which at the end gives a basic formal meditation daily practice. Meditation is the key to igniting the higher mind by gaining control of the lower mind. Its a very simple practice and you will see how much more focused, awake and dscriminating you are over your own behaviour within a month of practice. namaste.

Hi, its all about being awake, aware and in the now moment - then you are living from source and dont need to remember it. Trying doesnt work, waking up and raising your levels of awareness and consciousness does! We can choose to be as awake as we wish, first realising the duality, lots of people have still not realised the duality. 2nd stage choosing to act in a higher way, staying and acting from the inner higher self and not the voice in your head which is the shadow, learnt self. namaste
