The Energy Of Emotions

Updated on September 9, 2011

What Are Emotions?

Emotion or breaking it down to E-motion......."E" is the switch, the start button, the knob, the  key.  "E" is the thing that turns things on and off, as wells as opening and closing things.  "E" is the "cause" in the cause and effect model  When we flip a switch, energy is sent in a predefined direction.  "E" is the activator that sets a series of events into "motion".  "Motion"  is the "effect"  in the cause and effect model.  "Motion" is the actual energy charge traveling out to do its work.  In a nutshell, emotion is energy, it comes with a switch, a start button or knob which activates the release of energy  which is sent through the emotional energy pathways to "cause an effect".

Switches Put Energy into Motion

light switch
light switch

Knobs and Switches

Each of us are always in charge of what switch or knob is activated or deactivated.   The resultant effect is already predetermined by what the switch or knob is connected to.  We cannot turn the key in our car and expect the microwave to turn on, or start your microwave and expect your computer to start up. However, our switches and pathways may be mislabeled based on belief pathways restructured from our life experiences.

Energy Pathway For E-motion

The switch is flipped, the energy goes into motion traveling through our belief sytem. Belief or what we believe is the hardwire or circuitry through which the energy (E) travels (motion) to its intended destination after the switch is activated. Belief predetermines the resultant effect from an E-motion. Like any other hardware or cicuitry it can be changed, updated, rerouted and rewired.

Good Emotion or Bad Emotion?

Emotion is always good, there is no such thing as “bad energy” just bad uses for energy. It is not the energy that needs repaired, it is the belief pathway it takes and what it connects to at the end of the line.  How crazy it is that in our emotional energy belief pathways we have wiring that says light switch, we flip it and our car starts. We know this isn’t right, but we have become so used to it we just say, "Oh that is how it works now". Then we adapt and pass this onto our children and eventually we have a generation that doesn’t remember that originally it wasn’t designed to work that way.

We don’t want to change our  emotion or our energy,  we want our belief system our emotional energy travels down to be properly labeled so that when we flip the light switch our lights come on instead of our car starting.

      Green Lotus,

Thank you for letting me know about AEvans top 200 hubbers, you were the one who got to break the news. Congratulations to you as well. I have had an opportunity to take a look at some of your work, very impressive!

I appreciate your response in reference to the switches and knobs, we do stand at the control panel, we have the power, but making that choice can sometimes be a doozy, Yes?

Your light is indeed bright, Thank You! Love and Light to your journey

Nicely written. Glad I found you and congrats on two accounts - you're inspiring H2H interview and being nominated for AEvans' 200 top hubbers. We also have much in common!

I love when you say "Each of us are always in charge of what switch or knob is activated or deactivated". I believe we are always in control of our emotions because we always have the power to choose. All we need to do is to choose the good ones.

This is your second hub I am reading, and I think there is a lot to learn from it and also from your answers to some of the comments made above.

I had always thought that one needed to get over or control emotions like hate, fear and anger. Others like joy, happiness, love and tenderness were to be encouraged. But you seem to imply that the so called 'bad' emotions are also fine and they should be used to trigger needed actions or desired results.

I will be reading this one and mulling over it again, and also the other hubs you have linked to it.

      Brenda,

So glad you enjoyed the hub! Such an interesting question you pose....What is healing exactly and what would being healed look like would be the question I would ask first.

Would it look like the experiences never occured or would it be embracing the past letting it go in the now and utilizing the experiences to create a new future.

If it looks like the second example, the answer is yes. We each have to answer for ourselves. The opportunity exists for this total and complete healing to manifest for all of us. The fruition of such is up to each of us individually and collectively as we choose.

As we focus on the problems and painful experiences, we attract more of the same. As we focus on the solutions and joyful experiences, we also attract more of the same. It is possible, yes, but I will be the last person to tell anyone it is as simple as writing this hub and presenting the opportunities available.

Healing is a journey as also it is with pain. Enjoy the journey, feel, express, experience on every level. Suppression is stopping, expression is moving forward. As with any journey, we can turn, reverse, and change directions and destinations constantly.

Blessings to you as you take your journey and ask such deep, contemplative questions that you may find the answers you seek. Let your light shine, it can as bright or brighter than any! Thank You :-)

Intriguing perspective, and the analogy does make for clearer understanding for those who are not totally tuned in to it. However, for me the simple explanation "...celebrate the emotion itself, let it flow, it serves a purpose. Don't suppress those emotions, experience them" makes the most sense to me. This is the way I live my life. Thank you for an insightful hub.

      Good morning DynamicS,

You were right, the path they take is hardwired, but the emotion is the free flowing energy that can take any path. Actually what I am saying is much simpler, celebrate the emotion itself, let it flow, it serves a purpose. Don't suppress those emotions, experience them. There are more or less appropriate forms of expression sure, but suppression is not one of them. What you feel is important, embrace and experience and explore. Once you do this you will find the other underlying emotions that we say are hard. By suppressing we are trying to do the math without the equation. To get to the celebration we have to prepare for the party.

Good for you, the question that is. Look for subsequent hubs and try a few I have already published in the links listed above. Anything that expands your experience will address your emotions. The emotions are found in the frontal lobe. Try some of these exercises and expand your experience and begin embracing everything you are experiencing.

Thank you so much for your interest in expansion and expression, enjoy the journey and let your light shine

Gloriously defined EmoH! Reading Ayn Rand's philosophy as a teenager, I found it interesting to consider 5% who think, lead - but there was something missing. Through time I came to believe it is our misinterpretation of the belief that if we attempt to bury our emotions, life will be better. Without allowing our e-motions to flow, recognition of the faulty rewiring or direct effect, is more difficult. Beautifully written and "k.i.s.s.e.d"!

emohealer, thanks for another great hub. I always believed that our emotion is dynamic, not hardwired.

"Emotion is always good..." So you are saying understand the sadness, that you feel, for example, over the loss of a loved ones and celebrate their life, rather than the lost. This is difficult to sometimes do but in essence, we are focused on ourselves that's why we feel sad. We are sad because we miss the person. Instead focus on the positive memories of the person who passed.

I think I understand what you are saying... How can we relaable our wiring?
