The Importance of A Daily Cardio Workout

I learned early from public school health and gym class that exercise and diet together help us stay strong and healthy as we age!

Importance of a Good Work-out

Work-out = Cardio, upper and lower body; Resistance, Repetition, and Rest, and then do it again. Weight, lifting, and rest, then again. Next is dynamic tension, arm against arm, hold the tension, then the opposite side, then rest. Biceps, curls, shoulder lifts, and axial extensions, then rest. Listen to your body, ease up and now stretch, now run in place. do everything by count, and raise the bar each workout session. come on , you can do it! Are you hurting? Well then now's the time to find the arm chair, but keep up the deep breathing, and flex and hold. Sure, you will rest good tonight and you will either hurt or feel great in the morning..its a day by day thing.. But its about your body, your heart rate, your good cholesterol, and overall fitness.. Do all you can while you can. Its about you!

The Individuals Exercise Needs

No one needs to be told that as we age, our bodies change. Our muscles shrink after reaching the prime of life, unless we exercise, and maintain good sleeping and eating habits. Each of us seems to have a different metabolism, and some of us must focus on minerals and vitamins as well as the above mentioned habits of healthy living.

Most of us have somewhere inside our home that we can attach a work-out station, whether it is free weights, barbells, gold gym style stretch bands, a dynamic tension bar, or any other style of workout machine. Some favorites for athletes are exercise bikes and elliptical machines and stair stepper resistance, but the ones that work for you, and create results in the overall flexibility and tone of your muscles are indeed many and varied and almost all of them have their advantages. What is available is sometimes the invention or opportunity that appears to us when we need to get it worked out. (no pun intended!)

Just doing one style of exercise, though better than nothing, can target one muscle group and leave other muscles groups out, and that isn't desireable. That is why its important to research if you have to, what kinds of exercise options can be helpful and that are available to you. You will be surprised that their are devices small enough to fit in your luggage such as the Gold Gym resistance bands for less than $30 at most fitness stores.

My most important advice is to keep the body moving, and even if you have an injury, your doctors and your therapist can advise you how to keep in shape.

Simply Do it!

Keeping track of your blood pressure and other vitals, as well as marking out a simple routine on your calendar are important steps to stay healthy and mobile. Start with a few repetitions, and increase count as you go along. work one group of muscles, run in place for a couple minutes if you can, and then work another set of muscles. Don't ever go beyond what your body can stand. go slow and be safe and if possible get yourself a workout chart from the fitness store, one that shows the body's muscle groups.

You will soon begin to feel better and have extra energy, of course if you maintain a healthy diet and remember to drink small amounts of water before and a glass full of water afterwards. Nothing can supply the natural hydration of the body better than water.

Have fun and get out in the sun long enough to restore your body's vitamin D levels, but don't let yourself burn. If you live in a cold climate, wear a warm work-out suit and if its that cold, wear a scarf or simple mask in order to not inhale and freeze your lungs. Being environmentally concious is a plus anyway in today's industrial world that some of us live in.
